cannot for the life of me get the n4 to connect to my works wifi. i've typed the password in and been on wifi all day with my Gnex.

wtf? just saying authenticating for a few minutes then eventually authentication problem.

any one else have this problem?

try swapping your router's encryption type from tkip to aes or vice/versa.

the wifi hasn't worked once for me at work. i haven't tried any other router yet. it just says "autheticating" for a few minutes then eventually fails.

seems common:

my gnex worked fine on the router at work the exact same day i tried my nexus 4.

any one else?
Try rebooting your phone. It happened to me one time, with every router I tried. Rebooting the phone fixed it.

can't at work. haven't tried it anywhere else. just sucks that i'm up here at work for 10 hours and have to use my data plan. my gnex connects fine.

really bothers me paying $400 for a phone that is wifi issues out of the box, wtf LG*?

*i've seen multiple people having the same problems.

I spoke too soon. I was in my car last night. I had my car charger plugged in and aux cable while writing a text message. All of a sudden the nexus turns off instantly. Well, it's still dead. Nothing. I've tried holding the power button and volume down, nothing.

gdi. I just sold my Gnex yesterday on [H]. Now I'm probably about to cancel on the guy and refund him because I doubt there are any N4's for warranty. This phone is so damn nice but jesus the battery life, screen cracking if you blow on it too hard and now the phone dying on me, I'm not going to be mad about going back to my Gnex, at all.

This thread hasn't seen any activity in nearly 2.5 weeks so I figured I'd bump it back to the front page.

As of 1 PM EST on 1/29 both Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 are showing in stock and ready for you to buy. The Nexus 10 however, is still OOS.

I went out for an Ingress run today and my Nexus 4 blew up.

Great.

FML.

Red LED only if I try to power on. It's bricked. Not sure what's wrong but in all my Android phones I've never seen anything like this.

What were you doing when it croaked?

That's what scares me about rooting and why I will probably not root my N4. DLeRium seems to have multiple phones and services but I only have one, and even though my tablet can be used as a backup phone, it's nowhere near as convenient.

But I am enjoying root access on my N7. It's the most fun time-killing entertainment (and educational) for me since Angry Birds.

Root does nothing that would case that. He just has a bad phone.

I pulled up to a fire station with the intent of hacking it as an Ingress portal. It was my first hack of a Saturday morning. I know Ingress heats the phone up greatly if you play it for a while, but this was the first hack of the day.

I did drop my phone in the car though, as in it slid off my lap and into the cup holder next to me. Maybe like a 12 inch fall? Not really vertical either. I guess I can blame the fall. My phone has a case though.

I've rooted every phone and device I've had. The faulty hardware I've had was:

- SGS2 started vibrating like death. I even swapped out the vibrator but I think it's something else causing it to go crazy.
- Nexus 4 bricked.

I've nearly bricked my friend's Captivate, and but Odin for Samsung phones means that it's practically impossible to actually brick.

Is there any in-depth review on Nexus 4's camera? Not about the quality of images taken, but a technical analysis of its underbelly.

I was at a local Bestbuy yesterday and saw the Optimus Gs again (one Sprint, one AT&T), and the cameras on those were better. Yes, I know the Sprint one is 13 MP but to be frank the difference between the two were hard to spot, unlike the difference between them and the N4. I would like to know the differences in inner-working (parts and technology) of the N4 and other Optimus Gs.
