if you're going to list it seperate, might as well put me there too

I would consider it separate from normal javascript as you typically need to be familiar both with this special way of using js as well as handling it on the server's end. Anybody who is anybody can write js but they can't necessarily handle AJAX. Nor does that mean anybody who writes js and server-side components has any experiences with the nuances that come with AJAX.

-a Jax 😉

true.
i guess i'm old school, having used the technology before it was labeled ajax or web 2.0

I'm not sure how often I'll be here to answer questions, but I'm strong in: PERL, PHP, VBScript

I've also done some:

MatLab, C, C++, HTML, JavaScript, ASM, Java

Although I haven't touched Java or ASM in awhile: I'm not very up on Java 1.5+ or the ASM SIMD instructions.

I would say AJAX means successfully using XMLHTTPRequest in Javascript to access something on a server. Unfortunately, I don't quite fit that definition. 🙁

P.S. No Python?

Good: C, C++, Java, ASM, LISP, MIPS, RPAL (God forbid anyone wants this.. they'd probably be with the same prof I had in grad school), shell scripts
OK: Fortran, SQL, Web stuff - HTML, ASP, PERL, JS

Sorry Unheard, making some new categories for you but thanks for the work you are putting in to this. I would suggest skipping RPAL since I'd bet it won't come up again <shudder>.

Java & C

I use Java on a daily basis at work & school, but what I do in C is specific to research so my scope is limited. I'm fairly familar with the syntax ins and outs, flow of control, etc, but I just don't have time to familarize myself with standard libraries and things of the like.

Used Java and Perl for my old research programming job, so I'd say I know those languages fairly well. Studying Ruby and Common Lisp at the moment, just for fun 😛

OMG OMG ITS HERE. (sorry been away from the forums 🙂 )

put me down for PHP, MySQL, HTML/CSS, javascript (AJAX if you must). Python and a bit o Ruby.

X/HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, JSP/Servlets, XSL/XSLT, XML (and Java based parsing and processing API's such as SAX, DOM, and JAXB), Struts, Ant scripting. . .some other junk

How come JavaServer Pages (JSP) is not listed in the OP but ASP is?

Because thus far no one had posted it as a skill. It is added now.

PHP and Java.

I'm still learning as I'm only a sophmore, but if anyone needs help PM. Teaching others helps me learn.
