its such a shame fansub groups are really taking long subbing gakuen alice - by far one of best shows from 2004 imo, and probably one of the only shows that have good enough plot to be sentimentally touching. gotta love how they take time progressing the story, much the same way they did it in Daphne in the Brilliant Blue from last year. i dont really care much for animenfo ratings, but people gave 9.3/10 for the show if anyone really cares.

I like Gakuen Alice and Mahoraba the best of this list. Although I still haven't seen He is my Master. Heh, my roomates now question how old am I, since they both appear to be for children.

hmm you could say gakuen alice was going for multiple groups of audiences just the way Uta-kata did (junior high girls on the surface, but deep down for us mid-20 guys digging bishoujo anime). dont think mahoraba is aimed at younger audience however. both shows share something in common tho, they both improve with each episode. as far as i can remember, the last episodes for respective shows were the best i have seen yet. definitely a good thing, quite contrary to some of shows with great potential and didnt quite follow thru failing from becoming a classic, just managing to be good to above average (e.g. melody of oblivion, konomini)

at least they are aimed at higher audience than narutoball seriously, naruto is mostly for kids (judging by the time period when the show gets aired. stuff like he is my master is definitely for adults)

Akane Maniax - this is one WEIRD show. i got few chuckles here and there tho.. worth watching if you liked kiminozo, no brainer if you are a fan of Suzumiya Akane.
Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu - as with most of those short OVAs, they say it is not doing full justice to what great novel the original is. nonetheless fun to watch and worth a look imo. some great visuals towards the end of eps3.
Kujibiki Unbalance - this is some funny stuff. be warned tho, this is an OVA that gets brought up as a subject matter in another show called Genshiken, watch that first if you havnt.

I wonder too, especially since you don't see Neji in the openning.

i think neji is not dead , because they made such a big deal about the seal on his forehead will vanish if he dies, rewatching the episode didn't show that. they would've milk it.

as for the openings, it actually changes as we get more info. I didn't notice that it did until recently when the sand ninja suddenly appears in the last few openings.

Anything by CLAMP, there is bound to be a big following. This looks like an odd mix of Clover and Magic Knights Rayearth, with characters from other series thrown in as well.

Personally I thought Bleach was slooooow until they got into Soul Society... Manga is real cool though...

Eh? Personally I thought they rushed bleach in the first 5 episodes, it got better after that though (I'm on number 10 right now).
I really thought that was the bomb - great show: sentimental, action, music, well animated, awesome story - awesome

the story is really slow now imo. just fights after fights. at ~20 minutes a week i think i'm losing interest in this.

Thankfully the most annoying character (the girl) doesn't say much after the 1st ep. Though that Mokona thing like in all CLAMP stuff is bound to get annoying soon. Otherwise, it seems to be promising. Mebbe not hyperviolent and everyone dying like in X but not bad.

Basilisk seems like a good anime for those that are missing a good samurai anime... it seems like it will be similar to Samurai Deeper Kyo.

My concern about Bleach is that they end up like Inuyasha and Prince of Tennis and catch up to the manga, forcing the series to end. The manga seems to be paced even slower than the show.

As of right now, the Manga is leaps and bounds ahead of the Anime. Also, they'll probably do what Naruto did and put in a few filler eps if they have to.
