and to answer someones question about downloading anime

Most anime licensing houses in japan dont care about fansubbing, and some even encourge it because it lets many more people see their work, some do not like it and they typically contact the big BT trackers and ASK for their stuff to be removed and it normally is, they dont sue people, anime that gets licensed in the US is typically taken off the major tracking networks, and becomes hard to find, however indivicual groups still sub it,

Samurai Champloo is licensed in this country and the first DVD is out, i oen it actually, however fansubbers arnt distroing DVD rips, they are still subbing the raws from japan, and it seems as tho the company in the US doesnt mind unless you start ripping the dvds, either way the mpaa/riaa isnt gonna be suring you for dling anime

Air is only funny until you see the whole story. I don't like how the anime is paced. They've cut or modified almost every scene and the music is being butchered. I'm sure people who've never played the game don't notice though so it's all good. I'll have to see how the movie turns out.

well i guess that goes for most nc18 game based anime. some say kanon was a whackjob compared to what a masterpiece the original game was; having played the game a bit (only ayu's story tho, what a shame ), i dont think it was all that bad. tsukihime really was a letdown at certain points, but awesome music and drawing quality good in its own light made up for it sorta. Da Capo was best conversion i have seen so far. with that being said, it gets kinda unclear which audience these shows are appealing to; fans of the originals would be ranting about the way how they changed it, and people without a clue about the original wont appreciate subtle allusions and parodies abundant in the tv series (i.e. narration in Kanon in the beginning of each episode). I usually sit somewhere in between, liking both versions for most part. as far as AIR goes, at least the visuals surpass that of the original, according to many devoted fans.

lately i fell in love with gakuen alice. first few episodes were not as amusing, but eps10 and 11 were GREAT I am still reserving my judgement on mahoraba, since it only has 3 episodes out so far and seems to have an interesting setting with really cute drawing. so far everything is too cliche and looks somewhat boring, lets hope the show picks up as it moves on.

No for Ultimate Girls?

I have always liked stuff from M.O.E -> rizelmine, hanaukyo series, cosprayers/smash hit/love love and whatnot... they are at it again with excellent character design and peculiar sense of humor. are you getting all the jokes and parodies though? according to the guy doing the fansubs, everything in that series is a parody of Ultra Man. ultimate girls is a fun show to watch, but i doubt i am enjoying it to the full...

yea the ending was annyoing however it seems that many great animes have endings that make you go ARRRG, like FMA for example, one teh the best animies i have see ever, and the ending WTF?

For something like that AIR movie... how long do people take to sub them? Do they wait for the DVD release?

BR yes typically subbers wait for teh DVD to hit japan before they sub the movies, they dont to telesyncs and such, which is exactly why we wont see the Naruto movie till march

ya well, I really dont' mind lovey-dovey anime lol. But ya, I said the same thing awhile back here. I got into anime because of the awesome creativity of action sequences and gore and guts and guns and explosions and mechs.


also for xenosaga anime, is it me or the the characters look very unlifelike. every character looks like dolls. The eyes look like they have no life in them. or am i just crazy?

did you see Elfen Lied? that was pretty bloody and ha plenty of missing limbs

and i have found that i really dont mind the non action animes, some are really good actually

there are a few like that

http://anidb.ath.cx/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=main is a database for just about every anime, they list all eps by what ones have aired in japan i think, and also provide liks to teh groups subbing them and say how many each subber has done

http://www.animenfo.com/ is another site like that however they kinda just list what every one is about as well as a few other things

you can also just look at the seies info on animesuki.com to see what is current for each seried being tracked there

and yes School Rumble is awsome, however knowing the peeps here the non action animes are less favored

pretty easy, all shows get broadcasted once on a certain day of week... for instance, school rumble is a Tuesday show.. last episode (eps17) was aired on TV Tokyo on January 25th.

I might download later. Whats, IYO, is the best series out so far beside Samurai7 and Champloo. (action+drama)
