I wonder if the R420 will do 24-bit fp like the R3xx core vs the 16/32-bit nv40/nv3x and that's one of the reasons not to include vs/ps3.0 since it would require some 32-bit operations.

Soviet, doesn't 10 + 10 = 100?

;)

Your the 2nd person thats told me that, please explain lol i dont see how it makes 100.

10+10=4 If this dosent make sense then you cant read binary

Looks like you can't read binary :p

10 = 2 in binary.
2 + 2 = 4.

100 = 4 in binary.

1 0 0
4 2 1
= 1x4, 0x2, 0x1.

= 4.

Yep might as well wait, but imo i dont think it will *beat* the NV40 in performance as i read that NV40's original contender was the R400 which was ATI's own revolutionary card but that was moved up to the R500 and the R420 was made to keep ATI in the game until they were finished their R500. Dosent mean that the R420 wont be good though as it might be closer in design to the R500 than the R360.

R500 will KILL all :p

KristopherKubicki has this to say:

I think retailers will start getting the card that early. Reviewers and merchants may have to wait till may 4 to announce they have cards though.

does ATi deliver all their review cards by hand?? :confused: I would think it is for a sit-down talk to explain the architecture in more detail (meaning more info for us :D )

Yeah they dont have enough money to afford shiny silver locked bullet-proof cases in Canada. So instead they send the RCMP along with the ATI representative to deliver the card. Nah they won't discuss what ATI card offers, after the Canadians bring up some Molson Canadian, Keiths and Labatt Blue up there Anand will forget everything technical. Besides who cares when ATI delivers 16734 in 3dMark03.......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i wish it did when Anand was sober then we'll all get smashed to celebrate.

We do.

Sounds like we could have a lenghty discussion about our favorite coffee beans, growing regions, and brewing methods ;)
