No S*** Sherlock. Which is what I've been trying to tell you. But you keep assuming that the X1300Pro is gonna cost $149, even though that's just the MSRP. More likely it will sell for $129 or something like that online, even at the beginning. Then it will drop even more over time.

No, most 6600GT PCI-e are selling for around $130.

Read the question again. He asked what the MSRP is. You are telling him the street price. Sheesh.

MSRP is immaterial e.g. X1800XT may have MSRP of $550 but street prices maybe $1000 (like X800XT-PE early days) due to lack of availability. Street prices are what matters to consumers.

There is no point in arguing this much over it. We'll see tomorrow morning, but I still believe the prices will be MSRP at launch and maybe for a week or so (EDIT: after), so the street price of the X1300 Pro will initially be the MSRP of $149.99, compared to the street price of the 6600GT at $140.00.

I'm STILL waiting for X2 3800+ to hit MSRP and that was released like back in July or August.

It took a long time for the 6800GT/U to hit MSRP after launch because of low availability.

There is no widely available 256 MB version of the 6600GT. And besides, most 6600 GT benchmarks are done using the 128 MB version, including this HardwareZone one.

Yeah well did you stop to consider that might be a good reason for someone to choose the X1300Pro?

Yes, but that doesn't really matter since current prices are hovering around $140.

Yeah, but how about the 256MB version like the X1300?

So since only street prices matter, why are people saying the 6600GT should be compared to the x1300 Pro since we don't know what the street prices of that card will be???? Also, you did not answer my question of the MSRP of the 6600GT at all.

NOT IF IT'S NOT READILY AVAILABLE 😛

That's high end stuff. We're talking about a low end item which shouldn't be hard to produce in quantity.

Why would that make a difference? The 6600GT can barely effectively use 256 MB over 128 MB, let alone the X1300 Pro. The 6600GT is a much better performing card overall for a lower price, at least initially at the launch of the X1300 Pro.

I already said the MSRP of the 6600GT is $200. Check Page 5 of this thread.

EDIT: I'm very sorry. I must have deleted that when I edited one of my previous posts. Well, you know now, at least.

The X1300 in that article should be priced just a bit more than a vanilla 6600 (@100.00) and well below a 6600GT (@140.00). So I would say 115.00 would be a good street price for it.

Yay a realist.

Why all the comparison pricing between the 6600GT and the x1300? The benches they are showing are for the 128MB 6600 vanilla(outside of SC where it gets obliterated), that is the board that is neck and neck with the x1300Pro. Street price sub $100 is what we are talking about in order for it to be not too competitive.

That Pro is definately outclassed by the 6600GT. While the MSRP is 149 it should quickly drop to about 110 bucks. But even at 110 Bucks it would be tough to recommend the card when for 30-40 bucks more you can get so much more performance.

October 4th 2005 AT video forum reached a new low with a flamewar starting over the streetprice of an unreleased lowend card that intrests a tiny minority of the AT forum members.
