Oh man... Thanks for the memories, Wes. You were a heart & soul soldier while you were here.

Have a good time dropping clutch passes from the most overrated QB in the league for the next two seasons.

Someone is bitter. Maybe you should have a Snickers.

49ers with Boldin...seems to make them the favorites for the upcoming season. How do you get one of the best WRs in the game for a 6th round draft pick? Sports trades rarely make any sense to me, especially NFL trades.

From what I understand, while a 6th round pick seems low it was a good deal for all involved.

The Ravens had no way to keep Bolden with their salary cap issues. So, they had two choices, trade him now and get something, or release him and get nothing. Apparently every team knew this so it gave the Ravens zero leverage in bargaining.

San Fran gets a good/productive receiver. Bolden is much more than a clutch receiver, he's very physical and one heck of a blocker. I think given San Fran's offense that blocking ability will be valuable, particularly when Kaepernick takes off running down field. And I don't think his lack of pure top-end speed all that big a deal. Bolden is so physical and can break tackles that I think safties still must respect him on deep routes and come over and provide support for corners

Worked out good for Bolden, he keeps a nice paycheck, IIRC, and didn't have to risk the open market. Not bad for a guy his age. Plus, I think the Ravens are going to be down for a couple of years. Going to San Fran gives him a good shot at another ring before he retires.

Percy Harvin is a great acquisition also. He's been one of the most underrated players in the league. He's only been in the league 3 years and has 20 touchdowns and a crazy amount of all-purpose yards. Plus he was injured for a good chunk of that time. When Adrian Peterson calls you the best all around player he's ever seen, you must be pretty good 🙂

Too early to predict a San Fran/Seattle NFC championship? Nope 😛

Harvin is electric. But he can be a locker room cancer. Also, electric is great as long as you're on the field. Let's see how durable he is.

most overrated QB in the league for the next two seasons.

LOL. Really? Mike Vick? Tebow? Sanchez? Hell I'd argue Stafford is more overrated than Manning is. Take off your NE blinders, and you'll see he isn't the most overrated (although I'd concede he has been a bit overrated as a winning QB).

wow the seahawks are absolutely loaded on all sides of the ball. that would be awesome to be a seahawks fan. you've got an explosive mobile QB with a great arm, one of the best hard-nosed runners in the league with Lynch, and now you've added Harvin who is top 3 in the league in terms of playmakers (with Julio and Calvin Johnson). Thats gonna be a fun team to watch.

Unfortunately I'm a chargers fan, and we have made exactly 0 moves that will improve us this year.

You mean the QBs who are actually relevant...? Yeah, those.

iirc the NFL claimed the new collective bargaining agreement was going to allow teams to spend money to keep their veteran players by limiting the amount spent on rookies.

Well, that's a big fail.

the only fail is your analysis.

and how about the pats decidingnot to match a 2@6 mil deal for welker....

Amendola gets 31 million for 5 years

6.2 a year for 5 years

Good replacement for Welker I suppose

4 years younger.

Did Welker really leave for the extra 1 million a year for two years? I don't think so. Welker has a bunch of endorsement deals in New England. I see him pitching a lot of stuff. So, to lose the endorsements, deal with the extra cost of moving and take the tax hit on the extra salary, I don't think Welker will end up with much more money going to Denver.

This was all about Welker not getting the big contract last season and being franchised. He was pissed. And I think the Pats wanted him to go.

Amendola was already welker jr with a much worse QB throwing him the ball. I'd say his fantasy draft position went up about 100 spots just now.

Because they're retarded down there. They trade for Brandon Marshall, under utilize him and trade him after one season for much much less then they gave up to get him, then a year later they sign Mike Wallace to the absurd contract he just got. They have no idea what they are doing down there in South Beach, and really its not that surprising. The weather probably shrinks your brain and even the culture makes you dumber for just being around it.

While the Fins front office is certainly retarded, not sure you can blame it on the weather and "culture" down here. Not sure if you noticed, but there's this other team in Miami that's been doing ok the past couple years.

this was all about the front office threatening welkar with the franchise tag to get a deal to their liking last season and then eating it when welker signed the tender so early.

lol @ amdzen posting in this thread but he wouldn't man up when he guaranteed the broncos would beat the ravens and never went back to that thread.

Avril is a good pass rusher but below mediocre on run defense

Reggie Bush to the Lions.
Goldson to the Bucs for an absurd amount of money.
49ers add Glenn Dorsey for d-line depth.

Pretty happy about the Bush deal. We got him for a fair price and shouldn't dent the cap nearly as much as I thought it would. Suh restructured clearing some more cap space (surprised). Lions also inked Glover Quin and Jason Jones today. Lions finally seem to be playing ball no pun intended. Sammy Hill left today and so did Godsler Cherilus which shouldn't hurt too much. I think Avril and Delmas are going to be lost to FA but who knows. If Avril goes I am hoping we take Ziggy Ansah and not Dee Milliner if they are both still available at the 5th pick.

EDIT: Oh my just saw this

Seahawks sign Cliff Avril.
Patriots sign Amendola.

OK now my pick is set. I hope the Lions are listening 🙂

The problem is you named QBs that are currently mostly not considered all that great. Michael Vick, Time Tebow, and Mark Sanchez could all be considered overrated when they first came into the league (or in Tebow's case the 2011 season), but now they're pretty much universally considered bad. I don't know how overrated Stafford is, he's got a hell of an arm, but he's also throwing to a hell of a receiver in Calvin Johnson. Unfortunately the rest of the team leaves a lot to be desired. Honestly, I'd say that Eli Manning is more overrated than Peyton, sure he has two Super Bowls, but he's somewhat inconsistent of a player. And I know Peyton has never been shut out in the NFL like Eli was in Atlanta last season.

4 years younger.

Amendola has never been healthy his whole career, we'll see how that ends up. I think its a good signing for NE too, but it shows how classy they are that they couldn't care less about what Welker has done his whole career for them.

We signed DRC last night too. Another good signing.

With all the good signings by Denver, NE, Seattle and San Fran - its clear the super bowl will be Atlanta or Green bay versus Texans or Bengals.

Things never go in the NFL the way you think things might around this time of year
