So for a 1.6A what setting are people using in their BIOS. Please also specify your RAM speed.

therudyq3 - The VGA driver for this board is for the onboard video from the 845G chipset. If you'll be using your own video card, you can pretty much ignore it.

eaadams - My install order was as follows (although variations of this should work just as well):

Windows 2000 Professional
Intel Chipset INF driver
Service Pack 2
Intel Application Accelerator
DirectX 8.1
USB 2.0 drivers
Onboard Intel NIC drivers
Sound drivers (either onboard or from your own card)
Video card drivers
Other misc drivers (printer, scanner, digital camera, etc)

After that I went ahead and started installing programs like Norton AV, Asus PCProbe, Prime95, wcpuid, etc. When I finish with the operating system, system updates, drivers, and those 'must-have' apps, I usually reboot and start the overclocking.

I've had mine up and running since the 12th at 2.4 (150fsb/375ddr) @ 1.65v with no problems whatsoever. Once I get a cooling setup better than the stock heatsink/fan I'll probably try and see how far it can go with 1.7 or 1.725 vcore. 1.7v will probably be my practical limit.

Sorry I should've clarified. That was supposed to be Windows 2000 Service Pack 2, only applicable if you're going to be using Win2k.

My results:

P4B533-V
P4/2.4B CPU @ 1.65v
512 Toshiba PC3200 @ 2.7v 2.5/3/3/6
120 gig Western Digital 'special edition'

It's stable at 160FSB now. CPU is at 2.88GHz. Memory divider 4/5 for DDR400. Temperature under load maxes at ~55/130. I had some heat problems, going up to 60, but adjusting some case ventilation helped. Using stock HS with AS3. There was definately a burn in period and settling of the AS3. I ran it at 157FSB for about a week before moving up to 160. I'll run it at this speed for about a week and then try to max it out. I'd like to hit 3GHz, just for fun, but heat will probably be my limiter.. :)

Sandra mem score is 3020. Drive score is 29079.

If you want a DDR board, get the V rather than the E because you can run PC2700 RAM without overclocking the fsb. The T will be a little faster, but also more expensive because you'll need RDRAM. And with RDRAM you'll need to buy your RAM in pairs.

Not any longer, the new RAMBUS PC1060 RIMM4200 (32bit) runs in single sticks. The badniwdht advantage over a 845G board is round 20%. Asus is including one 256 stick in the mobo box. P4T533 R

i set the vcore to 1.575 in the BIOS...in the power monitor in the BIOS it then say 1.6V...but in the pcprobe monitor program it says...1.64V

so which is correct? I want to increase my vcore some more to stable out my system

i tried updated the new pcprobe but the same thing happened

Anyone using this board have a problem using Corsair XMS memory at higher FSB? I can't find any solid information on whether or not this is really a problem and need to make my mobo purchase very soon. Anyone have any solid experience to relate?

Need some help getting my GF4 Ti4600 to work at its full speed. I have a 2.2 that's OCed to 120 FSB w/ 3:4 Mem Divided. AA, AF, V-Sync are all off. AGP Aperature at 64, AGP at 4x. Am I missing something? I'm getting scores of 6200 or so... which is WAY below what I SHOULD be getting... Its a Chaintech GT61... I also have 1 gig of Corsair XMS PC2700... don't get why my score looks like it came from a Ti200 (which is a good card, but mine should do better)

Anybody else having a problem with ASUS PCProbe giving intermitten spikes in temperature for CPU and Motherboard? They go up to 80 degrees C and last only a couple of seconds. Just a distraction I'd like to get fixed!

Have just ordered the P4B533-V mainboard which will hopefully arrive early this week.

The main thing that concerns me is that the P4B533-V manual says it only supports AGP video cards with 1.5V only.
I have just recently bought a Leadtek 128MB G4 Ti4200 without knowing this specification, no where on the graphics card
does it say its a 1.5V or a 3.3V.

The only obvious thing I can see is that the AGP connector on the graphics card has 3 gold fingers. The P4B533-V manual shows a picture of the mainboard which has a slot with 1 nipple which would mean I have the wrong connetor on the AGP card as I would need the 2 nipple things?

Can someone please confirm this if I have the wrong AGP card or not?

Thanks.

PS13t: Your card will be fine. The 3.3v are cards that came out a couple years ago.

Hey guys, I just got my P4B533-V yesterday. Overall it seems to be a great board, but I'm having a problem with the onboard C-Media sound. The sound seems a bit "staticky" has anyone else noticed this or have any suggestions to fix it?

I just tried to overclock my new system. The CPU is a P4 1.8A CL68Q that exactly matches the specs on the chip THUGSROOK used to OC to 2.6GHz on default voltage over in the OC forum (where I've also started a thread). I set the FSB to 133 for 2.4GHz with mem ratio set to 1:1 (using corsair XMS PC2700C2 RAM) and got the following error:

While initializing device NDIS
Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer.

An internal stack overflow has caused this session to be halted. CHange the STACKS setting in your CONFIG.SYS file, and then try again.

Anybody how to fix this? Did I just get bitten by the Win98 FE MHz bug? I'm using BIOS 1002, would a newer BIOS help?

I fixed my problem with some help from THUGSROOK and am now running prime95 at 2.4GHz :D But I would still like help with my sound quality issues.
