Shoman94, What heatsink fan are you using? I'm using a Thermaltake Spark 7, and it gets a bit noisy.
Also does 'Performance Acceleration Technology Enabled' show up on your boot up screen, mine doesn't when I've overclocked.

Does anyone know where the thermal probe one the board which takes the system temperature is?

PAT is not enabled when you change the FSB/MEM ratio from 1:1
I'm using the Alpha 8942 with a Sunon 50.6 cfm fan and AS3.

why isn't this thread sticky at the top anymore.??

shoman94, you had any luck overclocking higher? let us know if you do.

Thanks

Yea I'm pretty upset at the mods for unsticking this thread. Right now I'm testing with the new 1.04a bios and I'm able to run Memtest86 at 246fsb without error....right now I'm fine tuning the memory latency then I will enter XP and test apps. so far so good anyways. Right now I'm on my laptop typing this but I'll be on the PC soon.....

PLEASE RE-STICK MODS!!! This Aopen is just as good as the other 875p's. They all have their on faults and AOpen is working on their BIOS. BigToe from ABXZone is working closely with them and have made a challenge to the BIOS writers to get the board as good as the IC7.

Ok...here is what I ended up with...240fsb @ 1.675vcore in bios, mem at 385 Cas2.5,6,2,2 @ 2.650v It's definately an improvment.
More testing to do...

I theory if we are using PC3500 the memory should be good upto 217mhz, so by using 5:4 cpu/mem ratio we should be able to set the CPU fsb to 270 giving a whopping 3.78Ghz.
What at the moment is holding the setup being reached?

I can run 230fsb at 1:1 ratio.......that's 460ddr with 2.8v and cas 2.5,7,3,3 timings.
That chip will never reach 270 on a 2.8C. I think at 3.4 with air cooling is around the limit of any P4C chip at the moment.

I've been running my config FSb 238 at CPU voltage at 1.625V in bios and showing 1.58V in windows for about and hour encoding some video and all seems fine.

Does the voltage really need to be bumped up that high (1.675V) to reach 3.34Ghz?

For Prime to be stable for me it does. I'm running 1.700 in BIOS right now for Prime95 stable at 3.37(240).

I bring down my voltage after for what I use them for. If your ok with what you do everyday at that VCore then your all set.
