So I built this computer awhile back and it never really ran all that well. I thought it was maybe because there wasn't enough memory in it so this morning I opened it up and was going to switch out the memory. This board will support either DDR or SDRAM and I thought I would take out the one stick of 256 DDR and put in a stick of 512 PC 133 and a stick of 256 PC 133.

SO I crack it open and start to change the jumpers and....

I had been running the DDR @ SDRAM voltages.

It runs better now....

Weren't they...3.3v? I'm guessing.

DDR 3.3v

SDRAM 2.5v (I think)

Actually, I got that backward.

(And NOW I'm running the DDR over clocked  :confused;)

UHummmm But it DOES seem to run better.

What would the performance difference be between 256MB of DDR and 768MB of PC133?

I don't know.

Guess I'll find out, since apparently that WASN'T the problem after all.
