Official and Confirmed - ATI to release 128 pipeline GPU, nVidia counters with 256!!!!!!!!!!

In a surprise press conference in my basement 10 minutes ago, some guy who may have passed through Markham in the last 3 months told me that he thought that ATI's R420 would use 128 pipelines. He had previously said 64 but when the guy I crossed at the grocery store this morning said that nVidia had 128 pipelines, he changed his story. Hearing that ATI also had 128 pipelines, the nVidia guy said that he said 128 pipelines only to trick "that gullible Canadian jackass", what he actually meant was 256 pipelines. I am told that both cards will come bundled with a custom air-conditioner and a small nuclear power-plant.

Neither ATI nor Nvidia have technically "commented" on either announcement but I have the utmost confidence in these people so I'll publish this as fact. Please discuss and feel free to make a new thread every time someone makes up a new rumour... I mean reports factual information.

EDIT: I thought this would be locked by now, but I'll let it be. I just wanted to make a point about next-gen graphics rumours and how people are getting into flamewars over theInq and MaximumPC's "articles" that are nothing more than rumours. Look in the ATI thread, people are flaming each other over the rumoured performance of parts that have yet to be announced. Doesn't that strike anyone as ridiculous?

Almost as ridiculous as this thread, maybe? 😉
 
To Original poster - its kinda sad just how much people will whine and cry about hardware that they've not even had 1 second's worth of design input or anything else for that matter...

I've heard from some sources that I believe to be reputable, that your basement is indeed a reliable source for information.

But, I got a pre-release version sitting on m mobo right now. Scored a 19562 on PCMark 2003 - and that's wowza mucho better than my 9800np ever was!!!!!

And that was with 32x AA and 24x quadrophinia turned on too!
