Its kinda hard to get games going because of the relatively small number of players and our differing schedules. Will people post like their AIM names or something so we can give each other a quick message to see if people are willing to play?

Aside from making the server public, is there anything I can do to increase the number of people per game? Would anyone consider a calendaring system?

This is kind of a stretch, but mabye.

You could give us all resevered slots. I know how to set it up on the client side but not on the server side. What I was thinking, is having one slot on the server that is reserved, and then 16 public slots, so 17 in total. And then when an ATOT person logs in it boots the highest ping or lowest score or something. The serrver will reconinse that its an ATOT person because we will run the autoexec.cfg file that has some special password in it. Again, I dont know how to set this up on the server side. But this way anyone from AT has a spot garented. So if you make it public, AT players will still have top priority.

The problem I haven with public servers isn't not being able to get on, it's this. Public servers have cheaters, and tons of lamers. People who just generally piss everyone off. No matter how many patches come out, the game will never get rid of those people; those people are the reason I quit playing. I was tired of being accused of cheating (even when I sucked), of people making lame comments, etc. I just wanted to play on a community server, with friends. So that's what I've setup. :D

How about this for a change:

Y'all can invite anyone you want, as long as they aren't stupid about it. No assholes. No pricks. No cheaters, and no cheater-accusers. If the server starts to get overrun by a negative atmosphere, then it goes down.

The password stays, but tell your friends via AIM. Have fun with it. But if I start to get massive complaints about this user or that, I'm just gonna shut it down. I love having a place for everyone to play (I may even reinstall CS this weekend :D), but I don't want it to be a hassle.

Oh, and another thing, Entity. If you make it public, would you mind some of us minor admin powers? Like say, map change, kick/ban, and admin_talk and some minor stuff like that?

That ain't the server, that's you. I usually get ping spikes from 14 up to 30. Yeah, I'm pissed! ;)
