well, er.. i just got half-life installed here on linux, and i still need to figure out how to patch it, install drivers for my video card, patch counterstrike, figure out how to run it online. so it might be a few... weeks.

It shouldn't be that hard. My uncle set it up in RH7.3 just fine...

I run the server in linux, but play in Windoze.

download the update.exe

when it is finished dling, click on the exe to open it.

find and select your hl directory

everything else is self explanatory

to go online, simply log onto the internet...open hl.exe, go to multiplayer>internet games...click "add server"

enter entity's ip, set view favorites only...then update...

If you see entitys server, double click on it..

problem is, i have to use WINEx to install .exe's, and doing so fudges with the registry a little bit. so the last time i tried to install the patch, i got a message that "your install is in language. this package is in the English language."


EDIT: not to mention that natural selection is much better than cs

I was desperately trying to beat Mediterranean SS-4, gawD this is a difficult course! (even on easy!) I crashed twice but managed to come out ahead my .74 seconds!
