Join any time you like. But it's probably better to catch me or a friend on AIM or something to coordinate when to join so you're not the only one on the server.

I connected yesterday, but there was only 0/3 in the server. Are you running this off a Road Runner connection? (IP: 24.x.x.x)
If it's a 3MBit Cable connection, you can only support about 4-5 people lag free.
I live in COlumbus, Ohio and there are multiple Cinci RR servers, where my ping is ~15-20. It rocks.

Well I'm hosting it from home on Comcast, yes. The server keeps resetting the number of people allowed. I always start it with +5 but this time it reset to 3.
I'm not sure that it's a public server (showing up in the main server list) but I've had random people connect here and there.Originally posted by: Jero

Yeah, that's one thing I haven't been able to figure out. The forums at server.counter-strike.net say that it's because players have pings greater than 1500. 1500!! But that's still happening on mine. Still troubleshooting that one.

Xionide joined yesterday (he's in Seattle) and he was getting ~50. That's really not that bad for a server hosted from home. i was pinging around 110

I like friendly fire. Makes the game more interesting. The rount timer is set for 5 minutes so it gives the T's a chance to do something other than RUSH to the bomb site. Some maps are huge. I *might* lower round timer to 4 minutes if anything, but I doubt I'll do that. Besides... I can always slap around the Ts if they're not doing their objective. Not doing your objective is against the server rules.
Today I was ranked 6th out of ~78. Then these two farking bozos decide to join the server. They're both from some weird named clan and they freakin wipe the floor with my ass. Now I'm ranked 73 out of ~85. :frown:

Yeah, sure I'll join. You're about an hour too late to see the end of about four or five hours of game play with a full server.

Well I can't host from home and free is better than paying out the ass for a dedicated webserver. So don't complain.
If anyone's willing to give me SSH and FTP access to their game server allowing me to setup and maintain a CS server for free, let me know. There is another larger server that several of us have been meeting at. I was just there for roughly an hour, and it was only me and one other guy... :\.
