I think we're just so desensitized to violence & special effects. Had this movie come out 10 years ago in it's current form, it would have been the greatest movie ever.
Funny how when I first watched Saving Private Ryan 10 or so years ago, I was sick to my stomach. The decapitations in 300 didn't phase me at all... i didn't even blink.

I saw it and enjoyed it. Worth the $8.00. Obviously the film's "cartoon" nature doesn't make it seem as gory as say "Braveheart" but I felt the stop-action effect seemed to slow down and de-intensify the battle scenes.
I saw it on Friday with some friends. Although the plot doesn't develop as well as I would have hoped, the violence and special effects were awesome. 
QFT! One of my new top hottiest. Definitely in the top 5 or so. Not that the queen wasn't hot, cause she was. But there's hot, then there's OMFG HOTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not ashamed to admit my weakness for women of her type...hell, I'll lick the gross dude in return for 5 minutes alone with Kelly Craig. Probably have to kill myself after so I don't have the memory of what I did, but it'd be worth it.

They tried to make this movie very LotR like...
Although they got the main points of the true history down, that's about it. The white horse guy that kills the son... he vanishes... O.k... The whole conspiracy within the city?... Never heard of it...
Did the 300 army ever split up to defend? No.
Since I sort of know a bit much about the war, I was partially disappointed.
But that's hollywood...
The fight scenes were good though...
But I didn't like how Leonidas stood in front of arrows like Jet Li in Hero...
The ORACLE was WAYYY hotter than the queen... Hotter than anyone else in the damn movie.

I liked it for the action movie it was. There was a funny moment though when they were panning through the Xerxes freak tent:
Me: Ummm
Friend: What the!?!??!

Seems Iran is pissed off about "300" and is calling it Hollywood's attack against Iran.

It seems they forgot that it was a comic book based on that era. I guess they need to add one of those disclaimers at the beginning like some movies... "Based on real events."

terrible terrible dialogue (some cringeworthy moments). but, i didn't go to see the movie for it's dialogue. it was enjoyable.
The movie was overrated.
Laughable dialog, pathetic acting, and naked men fighting (WTF no armor?). I must give the movie credit for its artistic style, but that's about it. Oh and the hotties were nice.
Even the action scenes were unimpressive.

I just got back from this. Three words.
"THIS - IS - SPARTA!!!"
This movie was awesome. Honestly, the dialog wasn't that bad, and how could you even notice if it was between the intense battle sequences? Anyone who went to see this expecting Oscar winning performances should be flogged. What it was, was an epic action movie. And it delivered, 100%.
