Packed. I didn't look hard but glancing around showed no empty seats.

Saw it in IMAX last night, and I thought it was just ok...I didn't really like the dialogs with the Queen too much, and the fight scenes started to drag on a bit.

Towards the end of the movie when the narration was going on, I thought the film had de-synced from the movie...that was weird and too damn long IMO.

Heh one thing I noticed... in the fight scenes where there's all sorts of blood flying all over the place, there is no blood on the ground :)

saw it, thought it was good. Dialog as everyone noted was nothing great.

some dull spots.

anyhow what was the name of the persian king/emperor, his name escapes me.

for some reason the actor resembles the one who was in Stargate Sg-1.

yeah... liked the special effects, but the clitche's were too much.

*SPOILERS*

the quasimodo guy the spartan king rejected betraying them... saw that coming a mile away.

queen having sex with the senator to win his favor... saw that coming a mile away.

that same senator betraying the queen the next day.. ditto

queen killing said senator... ditto

senator carrying the gold coins from the clerics bribe spilling onto the floor as his lifeless body hit the ground, thus the whole council shouting "Traitor" ==> ok didnt see this coming, but WTF are you doing carrying the bribe on you into the council room?!?! wraps up the political subplot toooooooooo neatly.

overall, 300 didnt live up to it's hype, but still enjoyable. i left the theater w/o the feeling that i just threw $7.50 down the drain, like I did with Star Wars Episode 1.

i just saw the movie.

anyone go "DUDE IT'S SNAKE!!!! SNAAAAAKE!" when they saw the story teller?

anyways, it's a great adaptation of the comic, but it added a lot of things the comic didn't have. I enjoyed the moive a lot. it's worth anyone's time and money to see this in the theatre.

Xerxes .... that History Channel show last night was great. Detailed a lot of the historical background that the movie hardly touched.

Didn't we see the senator talking to some Persian guy at the beginning in the temple? That's what I thought happened so the coins were no surprise.

It didn't quite live up to my expectations either and I thought the story could have been more interesting, but it was still cool. Definitely a theater movie

seriously who started the whole this movie contains a political message?

the battle took place some 2000 yeras ago and the comic written nearly a decade ago.

I'm waiting for that local news to bring up their piece but I'm willing to bet its has a bunch of morons giving stupid answers.

It's a comic book movie as you said, anyone comparing that to the real event doesn't know $h!t anyway man, just blow em off.

Besides when people can only reference Wikipedia which in the case of the battle at thermopylae article is incorrect in so many ways.

If anyone is really interested in a fictional book that is more accurate you read Gates of Fire. Steven Pressfield did his homework... Frank Miller.. well he is the guy that brought us Sin City.. the movie with hookers that have a super arsenal.

The movie sucked. The worst movie I've seen in at least a year-- I only say that because it's likely that I've forgotten a worse movie from over a year ago.

:disgust: what the hell were you expecting? I thought it was great, only because I knew it was gonna be a pretty crappy movie. I got a kick out of most of the dialogue, and the fighting was awesome. Well worth $5.
