That's bullshit. People deserve to be able to rent whatever they might want - this is just a naked attempt to keep renters out of specific types of neighborhoods, and all the baggage associated with that (like limiting access to better public schools). This "big landlord bad", "small landlord good" stuff is stupid.
How about no land lord's? You want to rent? Rent an apartment. Leave the 1-4s to mom and pop. 👩 👨

Who owns the apartment you'd be renting, you dumb dumb?

Or maybe I want to rent a house or a part of a duplex instead. Small landlords can be fine, and they can also be weird as fuck and wanting to break various nondiscrimination and tenancy laws too. Renting is a business transaction. Perfectly happy to do it with a faceless landlord.

- If I've learned anything about IT/tech after working with these guys for years at this point, its that they're the master's of dazzling with bullshit.

They know that normies don't know what the fuck they do or how they do it, just that they have to do it otherwise nothing works. The meetings I've seen where IT guys are literally just stringing unrelated words together while the c-suite nods knowingly are too many at this point.

Then the after meeting debrief "well they bought it, so let's figure out what's actually wrong"...

You have to admit this is kind of cool though:

Damn I'm shooting blanks so far this year.

I haven't done much this year but I decided to sell March GOOGL calls at $350 for around $1000 a piece, That was all GOOGL needed to start popping. Might cost me a bunch to buy those back at some point.

Speculation that today's the day for the Tariff ruling. I feel like it's gonna be 10-0 to overturn it... but you never know.

Delayed. Speculation is a split ruling letting the government keep the money but banning it going forward.

-Neat. Time to implement "sfirrat"s which oddly are the exact same thing as Tarrifs but a made up word that are exempted by the ruling.

Each time they're struck down, make up a new word and keep going!

I gotta to say I'm surprised how little Trump going after the Fed effected the markets. I'm guessing they figure it wold be one area Congress would step in for. My fear isn't with Powell but what happens in May and how will the new chair react to pressure from the WH.

If anything, cutting rates should help the stock market.

-Trump may have just pissed JPow off proper and now he'll leverage his right to stay on the board (albeit not be chair) for another 2 years.

Potentially stabilizing influence just got added to the mix, rather than removed with frivolous lawfare bullshit.

Silver is nuts. I sold my 100oz last year for like $2900. JM Bullion is paying almost $7800 for that today. I've still got some coins, but JM isn't buying anything unless it's $3,000 or more.

Yup I missed out too. Was going to buy 20 ounces at 75 but canceled at the last second when I read dealers are just widening the spread at which they'll buy from the usual 1 or 2 per ounce to 5 and 10 per ounce. That's a pretty big spread.

Before 2020 I used to buy and sell gold and silver. You could buy cheap on ebay and sell locally for a reasonable spread between buy and sell. Back then gold itself had a 50 dollar per ounce buy/sell spread. Don't know what it is now but its too rich for me.

Dealers just don't want to be left holding the bag so they widen spreads to make up the difference.

Dumping money into the Roth this week, I intended to try a far east fund to diversify a bit away from the magnificent seven. The Nikkei jumped 3% today and the TAIEX jumped 2.6%, before I could move the money. :(
The Nikkei went up another 3% yesterday. The pacific index fund I picked went down 0.7. :( So much for the rising tide.
