What the hell am I missing about HTZ?

Maybe these people are smarter than me.

The word is, that tons of new retail investors are piling in. They are sitting at home, nothing to do and stimulus checks to spend. Many of them are from Robinhood and they are buying everything, even things they don't understand, all to make a quick buck. HTZ is in bankrupcy proceedings and unlikely to get out. Even Icahn sold his stake.

Yeah, I've been following the developing "poor man's casino" stuff. It's interesting. I guess it's better than going to one of those online gambling places. At least a person can improve their odds over time. The elimination of per-trade fees has opened up a whole new world for those without huge funds.

I was just wondering if I missed something, some kind of news on HTZ that would justify what's going on.

Almost can't believe it, only 3k points away from this year's high. I sure hope whoever put their investments into cash bought back in like, a month ago at the latest...

I wouldn't bet on the market crashing again.

Kind of bums me out. Had no cash on hand to make moves. Same thing is happening with the TSX. At this point I think I might sit out the year. No idea whats is going to happen anymore.

I was ready to ride this shit to the depths of hell, just like 2008.

I'm so not sorry it didn't nearly as long this time. The one smart thing I did though was to sell enough assets to last 6 months to a year before the shit hit the fan. Right move, but for completely the wrong reasons. It really is better to be lucky than good.

Friday was way overbought. Common sense would call for a 1-3% pull back this week market wide. Lately however, common sense does not prevail. :(

My prediction for the week will be flat or slightly negative.
umm.. fed makes policy decision this Weds.
Trump #s are down vs Biden.
Trump needs the stock market to go up even more and i think his hand picked puppet at the Fed will comply

Trump derided the FR for years as "boneheads" because they were raising rates during his term. They only relented late in 2018 and cut rates on trade tensions. I would not call them "hand picked puppets" by an means. If that were true, rates would be negative, as ordered.

The market is already bidding up the 10 year bond, expect the Fed to start reducing bond buying and eventually begin to raise rates from zero.

i was thinking more the chairman of the fed as the hand picked puppet,
giving Trump's routine of picking yes men in leadership positions

premarket is up 1/2% for dow/s&p, .1% for nasdaq.
cant believe nasdaq hit a new record high last fri.

Buying back those DEC BAC puts is at least worth looking at now.

I could buy the whole lot back for under $2000.

I thought I would be like Dasher and bought 5k Sorrento @4.28 on Friday and sold the 4.50 calls. Net total will be $4.91 on expiration.

Bought an extra 3k for a flip this morning. ;)

I read somewhere that they're starting the second phase of the antibody trial.

Those 4000 shares from earlier are still locked up with the $4 calls but I do have the 1000 free shares I bought later on. It would be nice if that second phase is successful.

It would probably be back to $10 in no time.

The HTZ thing is amazing. It's like these people are playing a combination of "Chicken" and "Hot Potato".

I have to believe most of these players don't understand HTZ is most likely going to zero. They have a ton of debt and a bunch of people in line to be paid off.

Did anyone see how the US airlines stocks are going up? Buffet is kicking himself now. Hertz and cruise ships are up too (at least as of yesterday). Crazy.

I checked for a cheap ticket oversea from United and it was $900 round trip. It was the lowest price ever as I can remember.

I agree. One bad headline away from a nice crash in HTZ. Like holding a firecracker in your hand.

Thats because noone wants the Corona, plus you have to self quarantine for two weeks.

Curiously, where would you like to go to?
