I'm going with Denver and Carolina.

I'm a little bummed I won't get to watch either game except for what I can catch in airports.

Some of you guys are nuts. Broncos have the #1 D for a reason, they're fast, get to the QB and have the best starting CB tandem in the league. NE has no running game right now, the whole focus will be on Gronk and Edelman. And while the Denver offense has had it's issues, it certainly does enough to win and Manning has proven he can be counted on when the team needs him most, as has been evidenced the last two games. Broncos win...easily.

Chris Harris injury: Broncos cornerback may be limited vs. Patriots

If they continue to drop passes like that, I agree. But I haven't seen that many dropped balls from so many different players most of the year, so I'm hopeful that was a fluke that we managed to overcome. Denver's defense will keep it closer than most people here are thinking, and I also think people are undervaluing home field advantage. Both of these QBs like to communicate before the snap, which is very hard when an opposing crowd is screaming at you.

while they had a lot of dropped passes, you can't say for sure what the outcome would have been if they had less of those. you can only go by what you saw on the field. i do agree that we shouldn't expect as many dropped passes though.

True, they might have still ended up with just FGs and the only thing different would have been Manning's completion rate. I'm excited for the game though... I think it'll be good, frankly maybe even better than the NFC game. I just have this feeling that Arizona isn't going to show up and it'll be a pretty dominant Carolina performance.

Fixed that for you.

Yeah, will be interesting for sure. Both ARI and NE seemed to be mailing it in Week 17 and lots of injury questions. Now for the conference championship games it seems like CAR is the only team that without question looks solid; I wouldn't be surprised at any of the 3 others imploding either this week or in the SB itself. In the game weeks where he lost Edelman or Gronk to injury, Brady just seemed to wilt a bit mentally and lose focus and make more mistakes. PFM looks like the same guy who could throw 5 INT by halftime. Carson Palmer last week made some terrible decisions and his finger injury seems to be making any throw a 50/50 proposition if it will be a direct hit or a wounded duck right into the DBs hands.

I would consider it a major upset if the Broncos win.

That's interesting, why?. PFM did not look bad at all, was it his fault there were like 8 drops?. The D is for real, Ben had zero chance on that last possession, he was swarmed with pass-rush every down, have you seen the Pats O-line this year? 17 different combinations of players, the most ever by any team. We don't know about the availability of 3 key Patriot defenders, Collins, Mayo, and Jones left the KC game and did not return, they had to stick Feeny in there and that's a huge drop-off AND his hand is a mess. Brady has played some good games against Denver, but not IN Denver. It's been a house of horrors for the Pats.

The interception was bigger IMO. It was essentially a 10 point swing in one play and changed momentum. Instead of the Cards being up 14-10 at the half, they were down 17-7.

Ben earned that drive at the end, but the interception at the half was bs! Every time I see Harrison I think "that mother f*cker!" lol

It is just a shame because of the amazing drive before than Big Ben drive. Like you felt the cards would be carried on the back of Fitz to victory and then it all slipped away.

Rooting for ARI & DEN even though I think the more likely victors will be CAR & PAT.

Want to see Fitzgerald/Palmer take the big game.

Why is everyone writing off Denver? There were a LOT of drive killing, dropped passes that had 100% nothing to do with the QB.

I want PM to win a superbowl and call it a career, after that I just want to see the Pats lose, then don't care about anything else.

I'm rooting for the Cardinals but they have to start fast to have a chance.
Not necessary, I think. Just prevent the Panthers from starting fast, and keep targeting the Panthers' weak secondary. I've watched every Panthers game, and they are vulnerable to second half comebacks by the opposition, e.g. Colts, Packers, first Saints game (with McCown!), Texans, Giants, and of course, the Seahawks. Without the cushion of a strong first half, Panthers may have lost.

For the Panthers to slow down AZ, they'll need the D-line to pressure Palmer because AZ receivers will feast on Panthers secondary.

Yeah, I always liked Warner and it would have been a great way to punctuate his and Edgerrin James careers. Plus the Cards winning the Super Bowl would have been great as well. That was one of my all time favorite teams.

Had he done that, wouldn't he be the only QB in history to win SB's with different teams?

Yup, he was going for history. Peyton almost did it too. Especially impressive for Warner since everyone thought he was done when the Giants got rid of him and his hand issues.

Because he looked quite pedestrian as a passer including acting like a pitcher winding up for the 105mph just to toss a bubble screen so it would arrive before the DB.

In what alternative universe did Peyton "almost" do it? Broncos were down 0-2 within 12 seconds of kickoff and were behind 0-36 when Broncos finally scored their only points in SB 48.

Almost did it in that he took two different teams to the Super Bowl, and won one of them. That in itself is pretty rare, as he was only the 3rd QB to do it to take two teams to the SB, and the second to at least win one. Maybe "almost" is a bit generous, but thats closer than anyone has gotten to doing it other than Warner.

FYI. I've reported the thread title to the Mods. It contains incorrect information and is offensive. The balls were inflated last time too. :colbert:

Sure I can agree with that, but IMHO the "two different teams" qualification is somewhat meaningless as it's more a factor of whether a player gets traded or decides to take a "hometown discount" to stay with one team than a superior level of talent. Now if you win a championship playing two different positions or two different sports that's another matter. And while PFM is a great player he's no Bo Jackson or Deion Sanders (who did play as a starter in both Super Bowl and World Series)
