You're actually going to make the argument that Shanahan agrees with you and that is a good thing? LOL. OK.

The man has made tons of ludicrous suspensions since assigned to his role.

Losing McLeod for five doesn't hurt the Avs one bit, doesn't mean anything really at all so I am completely indifferent to the whole thing

No, I was right before Shanahan agreed with me. You're making too much of Kronwall's comments. There's no defending that dirty hit, he was looking at Kronwall's numbers from before the blue line. And what I hadn't noticed before was that after Kronwall stopped abruptly McLeod adjusted his angle to make the hit.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Buffalo Sabres enforcer John Scott was suspended indefinitely by the NHL on Thursday pending a disciplinary hearing for a blindside hit to the head that levelled Boston Bruins forward Lou Eriksson.

On a side note, Millbury might be a bigger Boston homer than Jack Edwards.
I'll assume you're referring to his rant on NBCSN that night of the Bruins/Sabres game... Yeah, he was practically foaming at the mouth.

Milbury's actually the opposite. He's had several shows on NESN before he got the full time NBCSN gig. His schtick was to play the anti-Bruin analyst.

Yeah, sorry, the evidence says otherwise when you look at what happened when the reverse event took place. When Lucic nailed Miller in the head, following through on the hit as Scott nailed Eriksson in the head and followed through, concussing Miller as Eriksson was concussed, Milbury said, "We want to have players that play hard like Lucic does and there’s going to be contact and sometimes oh my God people will get hurt."

Both players made dirty hits, following through with said hits, concussed their victims. However, when a star on the league darling Bruins is the hack, we see excuses and no suspension. When the reverse happens, it's an immediate ban until further ruling and one hell of a rant on TV.

Crazy win for the Devils tonight

- Lost 10 of last 11 games against Bruins
- Power play has sucked this year
- Down 3-1 in first period
- Won 4-3 with all goals coming on the power play

Two Bruins penalties late in the game made the difference. Torey Krug got a double minor for high sticking, and Patrice Bergeron put the puck over the glass (I still hate that rule). Devils scored on the 6-on-3 to tie it, then a whiffed shot by Brunner turned into a pass off the heel of his stick blade to Andy Greene who scored the game winner. He couldn't have done that intentionally if he wanted to.

i have already stopped watching the hurricanes again. not only because i am tired of them sucking, but because with both goalies out (again, 3rd or 4th year in a row) there is no way in hell they are going to get so much as the OTL points [and those arent fun to watch anyways]. dipietro signed a tryout with the ahl club, but he will come up and get hurt and they will still be unwatchably bad.

horribad team. i might have to get nhls streaming package so i can try to watch some good hockey.

anyone subscribe to gamecenter? how is it on ps3 and pc, assuming my bandwidth is decent?

Mmmkay. *eyeroll*

The Bruins might not be leauge darlings, but Chara certainly seems to escape punishment for some very questionable hits. What he did to Max Pacioretty was just disgusting.

Who else can crosscheck someone right in the chops and not get a penalty or a suspention?

I remember Jiri Fischer getting suspended for doing that in the Stanley Cup Playoffs FFS!

I've said it before... sometimes you're the hammer, sometimes you're the nail.

Lucic was suspended during the '09 SCP for a similar play against Max Lapierre. Video here

That play/pic posted ^ with Chara... Rask had frozen that puck several seconds before Hertl came busting in. Every NHL D man will protect their goalie in that situation.

I saw the play live. Hertl was driving the net when Rask froze it, so Hertl adjusted his direction to go well above Rask and was drifting past Chara when he got clocked.

I actually don't have a problem with Chara taking a shot at Hertl there, defensemen are supposed to play with some snarl, and guys get knocked down all the time in the slot. I have a problem that his "shot" was a freaking crosscheck to the face.

Edit: I think even Jack Edwards said it should have been a penalty.

*shrug* He's a big dude. The ref was right there and let it go. Hertl came back out for his next shift...

Wow what a questionable trade by the Isles for Vanek.
That has to be one of the stupidest trades I have seen in some time.

Yes, Vanek is a better overall player than Moulson but Moulson has great chemistry with Tavares. At best Vanek can be 40G scorer where Moulson is a 30G guy.

Maybe Moulson & a 2nd for Vanek, but add a 1st?! LOL!!

Tell me about it.

They basically payed a 1st round pick (possibly lottery pick) and a 2nd round pick for 10 more goals.

And, I know its a small sample size but the Isles are 6th in the league in scoring. They have one of the worst defenses in the league, and inadequate goaltending - yet they trade for more offense. YEAAaaaaaaa......makes a lot of sense.

That trade will be even more hilarious if Vanek doesn't sign an extension.

Moulson is a UFA this summer, so Buffalo might flip him later for another pick.
