How does that not look intentional? MacKinnon is trying to miss him altogether and he keeps coming at him and even shoves at him.

Meh, that was not even a half-hearted attempt at stopping him. He couldn't stick it out because it would be an obvious attempt to trip/injure and he mentally stopped himself. MacKinnon fell because he was mid-stride crossing over. Not because it was a typical knee-on-knee hit attempt to injure. 2 mins for interference.

If labeling a guy is a douche because he intentionally and consistently raises his elbow to meet players heads is a trait unique to Wings fans, then I am more proud to call myself a Wings fan than I thought I was.

I can't guarantee I'll be the first, but I certainly won't hold back. I've called out Abbie a dozen times for losing his cool. Yet he's never sunken to that level of head targeting.

Yes yes, of course, the Internet is abuzz today no one but you is discussing the terribly dirty play of Mike Weber last night for which he received a game misconduct was not penalized. Just another notch in the belt of a player with a long history of suspensions for such conduct who has yet to be suspended in his NHL career.

Ok, just so we are clear...

If the refs didn't catch it, and if a certain level of "internet buzz" is not achieved, it didn't happen?

There better be a fine for Player Selection coming. He sent Bordeleau and McLeod out for the last face off.

Is there video of the ensuing line brawl? Or are you still too dumb to understand why Rolston was fined?

Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect anything other than a 2 minute interference penalty, but it wasn't called. It wasn't called because it was 6-0 with 1 minute and change left. I get that. But if it had been called then all of the shenanigans that played out afterward wouldn't have happened. The Refs should call a penalty regardless of the score.

How about someone posts a video of this egregiously bad elbow? If there's no thread about it on the main board on HFBoards (there isn't), I'm inclined to believe it was probably no big deal. Homers on HFBoards are notorious for overreacting.

Not just one elbow, it was repeated and continuous. And the refs missed all of them. And no one on the Red Wings took him to task for his dirty play...

Good home opener win for Boston. They're still a bit rusty though.

Detroit should be a good test on Saturday.

So Ottawa pretty much does exactly what they did last year. Get 40 shots on net score once, let the other team get 40 shots Anderson stops all of them. Sens win. I'm ok with the results so far.

Exception to this is of course Samuelsson, if someone pulls a Nancy Kerrigan on him, it might actually be in the greater good.

I'm going to reserve judgement on Samuelsson until I see him play healthy for an extended amount of time. When he left the Wings I thought he had become a much better 2 way player and he always had an accurate shot. Now, I realized he's got a lot more miles on him now, but I think a lot of people are basing their opinions of him by looking at his play when he was hurting or rusty after coming back from an injury.

Judging from the first two games, it looks like his minutes are going to be very limited, except on the power play. Which is good, since the Wings could use his right-hand shot on the point.

Yep, he is the logo hunter. 😛

LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!! Crush those stinking Bruins tonight!

Looks like the Flyers just canned Laviolette. Well, he's not the one scoring 1 goal a game, he's not the one who can't put together a worthwhile offensive push, he's not on defense skating in quicksand like 5/6 of our D-men... pathetic, fire Holmgren NOW!

Holmgren owes Lavvy and every Flyers fan an apology for fucking up that franchise.

Him & Clarkie must have pics of Snider in drag...

On the other hand he's not getting enough out of the talent that he has.

It's a new record for fastest firing of a coach at the beginning of a season. For good reason, it makes no sense to fire your coach after 3 games. They should have either fired him at the end of last season or given him more time this season.

All of the Devils goals have been scored by guys who weren't on the team last year. 3 for Brunner, 2 for Ryder, 1 for Jagr. I think the Devils did an alright job replacing Kovalchuk (who has his second shoulder injury in a year right now).
