Kawhi Leonard is the future.

I think he is going to end up being a great player. Maybe not Jordan, Pippen, Lebron status, but still a great player. I hate to see the pains he is going to have to go through when Duncan, Parker, and Manu leave though.

Also, my GF heard Duncan's voice for the first time last night after the game. She was shocked. lol

Oh wow, Kerr's contract is 5y/25m with GSW. I respect the guy but that seems like a pretty hefty contract for an inexperienced/untested (if promising) coach.

That's just wrong. They won 60% of their games with Jackson in the brutal west. Hiring kerr and paying him that much with a 5 year contract makes Jackson's firing look like a good 'ol southern lynching. Kerr knows his ball but I doubt he can coach with the type of discipline and accountability a young team needs.

why?

Rivers fined $25k for gettig robbed by the thunder.

Debating how the last out of bounds call should be made after the refs missed the foul is reasonable, but there should be no debate that if this game was played in CA, the clips never would have lost. One of the worst ref performances ever.

Can't criticize the refs! Especially, not in public. And especially, when you got your damn self in that situation to lose the game. If you're up by that much with the 4th ending and you find yourself in a situation where one possession is the difference between winning and losing, you have failed as a team. You've done robbed yourself.

New owners are entitled to hire employees of their choice. Rumors are that Mark Jackson was way too much drama behind the scenes with his colleagues. And while his players love playing for him, he does weird stuff like play hockey-style line shifts that don't translate to hoops. I also feel the Dubs generally did poorly in crunch time, dating back to last season. That's generally considered to be a direct responsibility of the head coach (and certainly his players too).

So IMO although he shouldn't have been released, it's totally fair for the owners to decide as they please and there's a reasonable debate as to whether this team could've won more than 51 games this past season. On the flip side, the owners will look pretty bad if Kerr doesn't improve results next season.

I do agree that $25M guaranteed to Kerr seems extravagant, but no head coaches will sign 2 year deals. They insist on the "stability" of a 4 year deal. Kerr can thank his old boss PJ for drastically inflating his stock into a bubble-like level. 😀

CALLING IT NOW, NEXT YEAR KNICKS WARRIORS IN FINALS. PUPIL VS MASTER, PADAWAN VS JEDI, APPRENTICE VS GURU IN A TRUE TEST OF WILLS, SKILLS AND THRILLS

there will probably also be some basketball players involved

This is going to be gold Jerry

Seems news reporting top candidates now for the Knicks as Luke Walton, Derek Fischer, and Brian Shaw.

I think his ceiling is easily that high. His length is as good as Durant's but Kawhi actually plays defense. As he works on his shot, he'll be a lot more complete - his post work is great - it's a shame he doesn't post up more.

I admit i was nervous...i knew durant could overcome the clips but until the end wasn't sure if he had enough to overcome westbrook.

OKC was the better team and they deserved the win, but I have to say the offensive foul called on Chris Paul when Steven Adams jumped into him in the paint was probably the single worst call I've seen in NBA history. I don't think it affected the outcome (there were still a few minutes left), but I can't wrap my head around how the ref called that. It left Mike Breen and Jeff van Gundy flummoxed as well.

After the excitement of the first round, the second round felt like a bit of a letdown. Admittedly, part of the reason is the series I was most looking forward to (Spurs/Blazers) was five straight blowout games; boring. But you have a pair of gentleman sweeps that aren't terribly competitive, the Wiz and Pacers putting up some boring performances, and the Thunder/Clippers being marred by bad refereeing and people not showing up. Hopefully the Conference Finals can ramp up the play back to the level we saw in Round 1.

It was a weird way to get there, but we are left with the four teams most everyone was picking in the preseason to be in the Conference Finals.

Ibaka getting hurt forced Brooks to use a lineup of Jackson, Westbrook, Durant, Collison and Adams and they just destroyed the Clippers with it. The ability to defend, screen, move without the ball and score with that group looked alot like the Spurs. I know Brooks is in the ballpark of a second grader when it comes to basketball strategy but maybe, just maybe, he will roll that lineup out against the Spurs.

You think Collison can guard Duncan? I am sure Adams can't.

Also, any news on Tony Parker?

Adams can probably guard him, he's more athletic and aggressive. Though I can imagine that being a problem with refs calling a bunch of fouls.

And Tony Parker said he's feeling fine about his hamstring or whatever it was
