GM isnt a company that really knows anything about high end cars, they primarily work on rental cars and low prices family cars. So, when they make a high dollar supercar like a Corvette ZR1, it gets cobalt interior. Literally, the ZR1 has the same exact steering wheel you get from a cobalt

Err, why would GM have the same designers work on the interior of the Cobalt and the ZR1? That makes no sense.

Except for, you know, the non-recurring engineering cost...

It's not engineering, it's design. There are design graduates working at Starbucks right now who you could hire for $50k a year and they'll design even nicer interiors than that Porsche.

Following your logic, cheap cars should all be ugly because it costs less to design an ugly car.

Looks like a 2011 911. Which looked like a 2010 911. Which looked like a 2009 911. See where I'm going with this?

Yeah, Porsche tends to do that for a decade or two at a time. I remember back in the day when a Porsche really was just a glorified VW bug.

I like it! I must admit I'm at a loss to see how a 7-speed manual won't be kind of strange to use, though. Where will the stick self-center to? I would think it will still center to 3-4 and there will be some kind of aid that assists with the 4-5 shift, but still, how is this an improvement?

Wonder if it will be like reverse on a 6spd where it takes a lot of force. Maybe put R on the left side and 7th on the far right?

I loathe the back end...reminds me of a stink bug for some reason.

That lower rear fascia is kinda weird. Not digging the running lamps or whatever those horizontal lights are, looks like they were just kinda slapped on weirdly.

From the front, its like if the Beetle was a girl that was kinda cute and then turns full on pretty.

I do like the taillights, I just wish they'd go back to the full width.

Interior is meh, its not bad really it just doesn't do anything for me.

I'm not terribly fond of the increased rear overhang, but I suppose it helps the aerodynamics and it's still much better than the 996 cars with those horrible headlight/turn signal combination blobs up front.

ZV

I could've sworn reading in the latest issue of MT that the 991 911 will have shorter overhangs and a longer wheelbase

Row, row, row your boat...:whiste:

Huh - based on the gate I would guess it self-centers on 3-4 and you probably have to push harder to get it into 7th. Knowing Porsche I would expect it to be well-engineered but I still find it hard to believe it will be beneficial having a seventh gear.

It should help refinement during high speed autoban routes (less revs), according to porsche the in the PDK version "7th gear has a long ratio and helps to reduce fuel consumption."

For the love of cars, PLEASE remove the bling LEDs. For a near $100k performance cruiser, that is terribly cheesy.

They might as well throw in stock OEM spinners and trailer nuts while at it.

Porsche, keep it clean!!!
