He's just saying what everybody except Ravens fans know. He didn't get the first down. I'd be pissed too if I were Rivers.
Wrong, he made the first down. You don't go by where the knee was, you go by where the ball was when the knee was down. Rice was stretched out forward with the ball over the line when he went down. Even little Ray Rice measures more than one yard from his knee to the end of his outstretched arm.
The Steelers could still stumble into a wild card spot. Four of their next five games are against mediocre teams, although the Bengals seem to be bouncing back. Catching the Ravens for the division lead will be close to impossible without a big upset in Baltimore next week.
Bengals are on an up swing with Andy Dalton playing the best football of his career. Steelers are on a down swing and depending on their awful third string QB. I don't see how the Steelers can possibly edge out the Bengals for a wild card.
And their schedule is almost exactly the same. Bengals play Chargers, Cowboys, Eagles, Steelers, Ravens. Steelers play Ravens, Chargers, Cowboys, Bengals, Browns. Considering the Steelers just lost to the Browns, there's very little hope for their season if Big Ben doesn't come back.
The niners offense did very well I thought, and Kaepernick played great, especially considering all the penalties/calls that wiped out big plays/killed drives. Keep in mind that the 2 pick-sixes also takes away possessions from the SF offense, and that 2 field goals were missed.
Yeah, there's no need to pile on 60+ points when you're up by two TDs in the third quarter. The offense did a great job keeping pace with the Saints. Had those INTs not been returned for touchdowns, the offense would still have gotten at least a couple field goals from them.
