If the Browns win against the Steelers then the Ravens will be able to muddle through the rest of the season in the most laughable way possible and still win their division.

I guess that partially explains how he played on Sunday. Ouch.

Good thing for the Steelers that their upcoming game is against the LOLBrowns.

Cleveland is looking like the big spoiler this season. I would hold off the LoL until after the game.

Was happy to see the Bears lose, but it's going to be very tough for the Vikes to make the playoffs with the Pack and the Bucs looking so good now. Too many teams in front of us now and we are just not good enough. Should be a fun game on Sunday @ the Bears though.

Not over yet, anything can happen.

Yeah, with two games vs. the Pack and two vs. the Bears, things could change, but the Pack are looking very solid right now. Going to be tough to catch them.

KT

Solid?

They are looking good, not solid. If they were solid they wouldn't have struggled as much on the lions.

Too many injuries on defense, and the Oline at the moment to be considered solid.

well, depending on how long Cutler is out, the Pack is a lock for the division.

Playoffs for the NFC look insane right now: Falcons, Packers, Niners, Bears, Seattle!, and of course, there is always the stingy Giants. They have shown, earlier in the season, the team that can certainly win another superbowl, and also a team that shouldn't make the playoffs. Just another regular season for the New York Eli's though. If they make the playoffs (I mean...who's going to stop them? the Cowboys? rofl...Skins? eh...no.)

Oh, and here come the Saints again.

Outside of Huston, does anyone give the AFC a chance, or even care? (well, there is always Brady), and Old Man Manning looks to be a pest in the Playoffs.

If Ben (and a few other notables) get healthy in time and either the Ravens choke or the Steelers at least nab a wildcard spot they've at least got some life in them for the playoffs, but how they fare against "real" teams is still uncertain.

Huh, appears Steelers signed Plaxico again to help stand in for Brown and Cotchery.

I hope the packers win the division. And right now, if we can believe the packers will beat the bears again this season, the bears cannot afford to lose another game if they want to win the divison.

That said, the packers cannot get the bye week. Packers + bye week = hangover.

I could see houston and patriots for the AFC champ, easy. Sure the Broncos may sneak in. BUt the other teams are just not there.

I won't count Denver and even New England out. Remember, Rodgers and company destroyed Houston so a blueprint exists for beating them if you have the talent and I think the Broncos and Patriots do have the talent.

Houston is probably competitive with the best in the NFC at this point, but the NFC just has so many more elite teams. You've got the Niners, Packers, Bears, Saints, Falcons, and Giants. I'd never count the Saints or Giants out until the clock hits 0 with them on the wrong side of the scoreboard. I don't think anyone really believe the Falcons are the best team in the league and like most, I won't believe in them until they prove me wrong. I learned that lesson with the Ravens too.

I could be wrong, but I still believe it comes down to the Giants and Packers in the NFC. The Giants are slumping now, but they do every year and manage to make the playoffs.

One thing can be said. Matt Ryan is NOT the reason the falcons are only at 1 loss.

He is almost up to Romo in INT and doesn't have any impressive Passing TD or yard numbers.

I would credit their defense more, than anything.

Definitely do not count the saints or giants out.

If the Ravens manage to the the AFC #2 seed I can picture them winning their home playoff game and then losing to Houston in the AFC championship. Sadly I do not see them winning an away game in the playoffs this year, but you never know which Joe Flacco will show up.

The Saints currently have an elite QB, but they are not an elite team. I don't think anyone can discount them, but when it comes to the playoffs, they really need to learn how to stop other teams from scoring.

We'll see this week how they handle the SF defense. I mean....if the "woeful SF offense" (to paraphrase ICF from earlier) can do that to the Bears D, holy shit. D:

granted, that was an SF offense that has not been seen on the field before last night. Even Gruden had no idea what was going on, and this guy spends every day prepping for these nights. I've read that he spends as much time watching tape, now, as he did as a coach, and certainly as much time watching tape as any currently-employed head coach.

With the Rams, Kaepernick came in the 2nd qtr, essentially running the Smith playbook. He had only before been used as a QB sneak or for trick plays for the most part. Whatever happened last night, the Bears were clearly unprepared on every snap, lol.

One thing is for sure, the Broncos are in the easiest division outside of the 49ers (so in the AFC) and we already beat the only other team in the division twice. We still have the Chiefs twice and the Raiders once. The road is clearest for the Broncos. Other games on the slate include Bucs at home, Ravens away and Cleveland at home. The Broncos might lose one of those three and that's it.

I could see them or New England taking the #2 seed, NE has the more difficult schedule and the Ravens schedule is more difficult too

Saints:

#5 offense in the league
#32 defense in the league. <------- Ouch.

sorry, NFC South and East are clearly worse than the NFC West. Seattle is not a bad team by any stretch, and the Rams are real spoilers.

I think the only division worse than the AFC West is the NFC South. 😀

yea but New England also likes to heat up late season and steam roll opponents. (Example, 2 days ago)

Plus, I could see Broncos losing 2-3 more games this season easily. Because the divison they are in is weak, yet finiky. I know the chiefs spoiled Packers 16-0, so it would be no surprise to see the broncos lose a game or 2 in the division yet.

The Ravens are one win ahead of both the Patriots and the Broncos, and all of their remaining games against good teams are at home. I still think they have a chance of getting the #2 seed, but I'm afraid they'll do something stupid like blow their upcoming game against San Diego like they did last year.

I don't know about that.. AFC West and East are pretty much even when it comes to having the worst division.

NFC South isn't bad with the Saints and Bucs surging right now.
