One isn't clearly and vastly superior to the other by any stretch of the imagination. What you are 6-2-1 and we are 6-3? Same difference. However, Broncos are 3rd in Defense against QB's in regard to the QBR and have the best QB in the league in every stat that matters. Your defense can't stop Manning, our defense can stop Smith.

I don't think anyone is bragging about SF's Offense. But, as they have shown this year and last year, they are certainly capable to play with their D, which allows them to run the type of offense they need to run.

I like watching them play simply because it's like watching football again. I've always liked Manning, I think he's entertaining and fun as hell to watch, but it's a very different game that he makes. Not saying that isn't football, not at all--his is very much what most of the best teams of the last decade have adopted.

Niners play like a classic midwestern-type team and do it very effectively.

I saw the comment and I disagree with it, but we'll see what happens. If the Broncos don't make the Super Bowl this year, I think that disproves that theory since the AFC is much weaker today than it was just a few short years ago when the Colts made their Super Bowls.

EDIT: And regardng defenses, if we go strictly by stats, the 2007 Colts had a better defense than the current Denver defense in terms of ranking.
