Texas really pulled that one out of the fire. Shame on La Russa for pulling Motte so soon and then putting in Arthur Rhodes to face Josh Hamilton, what the hell was he thinking?? Motte had given up 1 hit in his last 9 appearances and the hits he gave up were weak bloopers. Classic move of Tony over-managing again and it cost them.

Anyway, Texas now has the momentum going back home and I still like them in 7.

That same over-managing IMHO helped him win Game 1. I also hope that it goes 7. The only reason for me to root for Texas is so they can get their 1st title.

I hope Hamilton gets healthy fast. He doesn't look comfortable swinging right now and it shows.

La Russa was getting applauded incessantly for over-managing them into the WS, he's not gonna stop now. I don't know what kind of SO numbers Motte has, but that's what they needed right there. The best case scenario with Rhodes would've been a ground ball out that didn't score the runner on 3rd; Rhodes is not likely to overpower even a gimpy Hamilton with his stuff.

The biggest gaffe was Albert Pujols not securing the throw in from John Jay. NLCS stats aside, Pujols doesn't look like the absolute menace at the plate he's always been in the playoffs.

He was healthy enough to hit in the tying run which was all that mattered. What is wrong with him again, his hand?
I think the announcers said pulled groin, so he's basically batting waist-up.

yea pujols fubared that catch which allowed the guy to make it to 2nd, which scored the winning run.

Sir Albert. Senior Circuit represent!

Also, hanging the rally squirrel in effigy was just wrong! 😛
