300% gain on GNVC!

Sorry Azurik, Richardcc has taken over as the single best pick so far. Unless the ITC comes out favorable tonight, the you win!

I bought GNVC at 1.80, chickened out and sold at 1.87.

GNVC - Awesome rally. Richardycc - Excellent pick.

uhh, off the top of my head, i can remember azurik

he recommended DNDN at $4, it's at $30 now, that's a 750% gain
he shorted oil at like $150 and covered at $30
recommended GS at $70, over $150 now
recommending RMBS everytime it has single digits, once at $5, which would be a 5 bagger
TSRA went from $14 to $30

no offense to richardnycc, i made some good money off his calls, and follow him closely too, but azurik has been extremely accurate in his picks, and very good in analyzing legal cases. his post are the most thorough in doing due diligence on stocks. he list his trades in real time in most cases too which helps me know when i should get out.

Why are we holding richardcc and azurik against each other!? They both made good picks and leave it at that.

Are we then going to throw them under the bus if they make a bad pick? Come on guys :)

RMBS won at the ITC - Judge Essex finds in favor of RMBS and that Nvidia has indeed infringe upon their patents regarding graphic controllers.

I need to read up on this so I can't post too much right now, but if Judge Essex bars importation of Nvidia graphic chips to the U.S., expect massive repurcussions or a quick settlement.

Concerning GNVC, I want to congratulate Rich, it was a good call. I don't care much about comparing him and I. I'm here to make money and helping others profit from it. And that's that!

AND YAHOO!!!! MY Feb $26 calls doubled in value from this morning and almost in-the-money!!!

It seems that the '998 and '016 patents were not upheld. I'm trying to figure out what those are now, but looking forward to your future updates!

Those were part of the Barth family of patents... it's not important now. We won on the Ware inventions, 3 patents, and it only takes 1 to infringe.

You know what this means?

Nivida infringes.
Hewlett Packard infringes.
ASUS infringes.
etc. etc. etc.

Ok, so until I read the full report, this is what I understand. Judge Essex ruled all patents infringed, but the ones we lost, the 016 and the 998, are anticipated and obvious. That's not a big deal at all...

This is AWESOME news. If the commission agrees with the judge we're going to have a monopoly on not just memory, but memory controllers and graphic controllers!

If the commission upholds, look out guys - RMBS' landscape changes forever. They go from a small company that needs to litigate to a company with serious EPS.

Depends on if Nvidia chooses to quickly settle or goes for one last ray of hope, but if they do, I'm very confident they are going to get denied. Both the ITC Staff and Judge has sided with RMBS - I don't think the commission is going to go against both.

I sold off my protective put. In the face of Nasdaq being down 5% in the past 3 days, RMBS has been doing very well. I think we push to $30 soon, lets hope the market bounces back next week, it'll be even more pronounced.

My predictions to the end of this year if things are how they appear now:

RMBS to $50.

I know this is pretty much impossible to know, but what are the chances that the committee upholds? Is Essex known for making extreme decisions that are later overturned? Do these committees typically take the word of the judge strongly into advisement?

Read my post above (we posted at the same time). I give the chances, at best, 5%-10%. More likely 1 in 20 odds.

Haha, you heard it here first folks! Ok enough excitement/slacking for one day, I need to get back to studying for quals :(

From you prev post, I assume you mean 5-10% chance that the committee does overturns Essex's findings and rules in favor of nVidia? (I asked the chances of Essex's ruling being upheld... scaring me for a second here :p)

You know what the major bummer is? Whenever RMBS has real good news, it seems to be in the face of a major market dumpage. Hopefully when the overall market gets some legs, RMBS will outperform.

congrats to rich and azurik! There shouldn't be any tension here between anyone because we're all in for the game goal...and that's to make money. I hope I had found out the stock thread earlier over the years (been lurking and posting on other boards/forums) and didn't waste my time with a fund manager.

Yes, that's what I meant - sorry for scaring you :)

Here's a list of companies who lost to RMBS today because of the ITC ruling:

Rambus has asked the International Trade Commission to bar imports of graphics cards that use Nvidia graphics chips, following a Rambus patent suit against Nvidia in July.

The complaint names a who's-who list of the graphics-card world, as well as a top OEM. Defendants include Asustek and Asus, BFG Technologies, Biostar Microtech, Diablotek, EVGA Corp., G.B.T. and Gigabyte, Hewlett-Packard, MSI Computer Corp. and Micro-Star International, Palit Multimedia and Palit Microsystems, Pine Technology Holdings, and Sparkle Computer.

All of the products, Rambus says, include Nvidia products that include DDR, DDr-2, DDR-3, GDDR, GDDR-2, and GDDR-3 memory controllers. Those controllers allegedly infringe Rambus patents on the memory interface technologies.
