Yes I watched some of the second and third rounds. Point is Lebron is playing with arguably the best single player in the NBA. Put Richard Jefferson out there with the heat and he looks like a HOF.

How good was Pippen really? HOF material? Without Jordan I'm not so sure. You can't bring the Shaq/Kobe argument into it either because Kobe won two rings without Shaq. Please don't say Gasol is a HOF too.

Doesn't matter what I say. I'm just a "hater" either way.

LoL! do you mean wade, who deferred to lebron for over a month because he couldn't find his rhythm during clutch moments? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eDjYYO-rAw . do list how many huge 4th quarter closing shots lebron made. do you have the courage? i'm betting you'll ignore that link again.

kobe couldn't win jack without dominant big men carrying the load for him. and LOL at your pippen claim.

Meh! So Lebrick got lucky about 50 times so far this series, that doesn't really mean anything.

Pippen carried the Bulls to a 55 win season an the ECF without Jordan, and without an All Star to replace his position either. That right there is enough to show what Pippen was without Jordan.

That was the season that Pippen became a man (all but 1.8 seconds.) He showed how 1 man can dominate both sides of the floor even if he's not always the primary scorer or go-to guy.

Anyhow...

Wade is proving he is one of the best closers in the game. Lebron is showing why he is not and probably never will be. He apparently can do it on occassion (the bulls), but he doesn't have a closer's focus and mentality like Wade and other true closers.

Also...anyone think the refs are not actually favoring the heat like expected? I thought game 3 was in favor of the Mavs, surprisingly even in crucial late game plays. Miami big men were called for fouls, but the Mavs got the benefit of the doubt, including the 'late-in-the-shot-clock' 3 by James, who was clearly hit on the wrist, no ball. Dirk also got all the calls...not necessarily undeserved but not a given either. For some reason I don't expect this to continue tho [call me cynical...]

I'm not a Lebron hater. Truth is we will never know truly how good Lebron is or could of been. He's a top 5 NBA player for sure. What separates a top 5 talent from an all time great is the ability to close a game out when it's all on the line. Lebron by himself could never do that. If he would of had more help who knows. I'm not being a hater when I say how can you judge Lebron's game anymore now that he's playing with arguably the best player in the NBA in Wade? I bet if you threw in Durant, Nowitzki, or Dwight Howard into the heat instead of James they are at the NBA finals right now too.

LeBron getting a crappy Cavs team the best record in the NBA and then to the Finals means nothing? Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson all had HoF players with them, LeBron literally had no one in CLE but still made that team good. Kobe needed a ton of VERY good players around him to win.

now its obvious you're just talking out of your ass

Hate moar pls:
In the Eastern Conference Finals, James led the Cavaliers from an 0–2 deficit against the Detroit Pistons to win the series in six games. His performance in Game 5 was especially memorable. James recorded a franchise-record 48 points on 54.5% field goal shooting, to go with 9 rebounds and 7 assists. In addition, James scored 29 of Cleveland's last 30 points, including the team's final 25 points in a double-overtime victory. He concluded the night with a game-winning lay-up with 2 seconds left.[32] NBA analyst Marv Albert referred to James' performance as "one of the greatest moments in postseason history," while color commentator Steve Kerr called it "Jordan-esque."

very frustrating to see the Heat continually unable to just close out games where they have a sizable lead in the 4th. For some reason, they stop driving to the basket and start taking nothing but crazy low percentage shots and always allow the other team to get back into the game.

You're not likely going to get another game where Dirk looks as bad/uncomfortable as he was tonight. Gotta win in a game like that.

For all the Heat haters in this thread, that is probably the one legitimate complaint - total inability to just put your foot to the other team's throat and hold a lead.

Dirk is a fucking hero

Heat were 1-9 in the final 5 mins of the 4th quarter. That ONE included the dunk Wade got with 9 seconds left. W.....T......F......

HELL YEAH MAVS.

Tough win with Dirk being sick. Really affected him early even though he started out hot (3 for 3).

I'm really glad to see other players step up and play better (Jet, JJ, Chandler, Marion) but they can still play even better.

Mavs missed so many open shots which tells me that while the Heat's defense is nothing to be laughed about, Mavs can still create plays that give them open shots. We just need to hit them.

While I know there are tons of "what if's" and stuff, but if Dirk wasn't sick, I have a feeling Mavs would have won by 10+ points.

Anyways, it's anyone's ballgame at this point. If Mavs win game 5, I feel pretty confident they can win 1 more on the road.

Will be extremely difficult though as Heat will definitely make some adjustments.
