Amazing how many excuses you guys have for Lebron. Sorry scoring points is the most important aspect of the game. That's why scorers get paid what they do. Defensive specialists are a dime a dozen. Jason Kidd can still play some D and get you 9 assists. Maybe Kidd should be MVP?

There's a reason Lebrick's new name is LeRobin. He makes a great complementary player for Wade. Wonder how satisfied Lebron would be if the heat end up winning the championship and Wade is the main man?

Lebron is averaging more points than Wade in the playoffs. Wade has outscored Lebron in 2 of the 3 finals games, but Lebron outscored Wade in 4 of the 5 ECF games.

Next argument?

Picked up this nugget from Sports Nation:

Including scoring and assists, Lebron created 23 points to Wade's 14 created points in the 4th quarter. AND he's only allowed 5 points....5 POINTS!.. as a primary defender in the combined fourth quarter of the NBA finals! WOW! BTW- he's on the court holding the team together while Wade is on the bench resting to be able to play in the last five minutes- and not just in this series.

A person who refers to him as Lebrick would have a million arguments why he sucks. James could score 80 points and have 20 rebounds and 30 blocks in the next game and he still will be "teh suxs!"

I'm curious what his next argument will be lol.

Yeah, Lebron's the best player in the NBA and he's going to be extremely happy and satisfied if they win a ring, even if he doesn't win Finals MVP. When someone has 0 rings, the first one is the only thing that matters, even if personal performance sucks.

Just ask Kobe if rings matter more or personal stats/recognition. Kobe has 3 with Shaq and the terrible 6/24 in Game 7. Scoring a ton of points is great but it doesn't really win championships by itself. That's like Wilt vs. Russell. Seriously, Magic didn't need to drop 30+ every game to be great. It was only after Jordan scored a ton that people care so much about ppg.

Now, down the line, if they win 4 or 5, he may become a fat cat and want more legacy but when at 0, nothing else matters. Just ask guys like Malone & Stockton, Payton, etc. about what was important.

"Crunch time chops" lol!
Are we talking about the same guy that's had his ass handed to him every year and came with knee pads on looking to join Wade's team?

dude...we could say the same thing about Dirk...he's been getting his ass handed to him longer than James...

Hendrix...dude...you are making way too much sense to be posting in this thread man...

Heat in 6 because they have a better TEAM...this isn't tennis gentlemen...it's a TEAM sport.

Lol at the Lebron nuthuggers. I told you guys he was riding Wade's nuts. Wade is the man on the heat team. Dude is the most overrated player in the NBA.

"But but he's the King.. At least that's what I heard in a commercial. Also I'm a witness. "🙄

again, with LeBron the Cavs are a top 3 team, without him they are now bottom 3.

The dude has one mediocre series (which is only halfway over btw) and haters are already clamoring to take away his 'superstar' status as if he's now suddenly just another guy on the team because he's had two mediocre games.

its absolutely hilarious how quick people are to forget how terrible Wade was against the Bulls, or that James was the best player for Miami in the first game against Dallas.

Of Miami's 18 post season games James has been the top scorer of anyone playing 7 times compared to Wade's 5 or Bosh's 3, I'm pretty sure he's more than carrying his weight in helping the team win in the playoffs.

Sure, right now in the finals Wade is definitely playing better basketball, but to say LeBron is "riding Wade's nuts" is laughable when its completely obvious Wade wouldn't even be in the finals without LeBron.

We could talk about that choke job he did a few years ago in the Finals but we shouldn't. We'd hurt his feelings. I don't like the Heat at all but anyone that says LeBron isn't the best player in the league is just retarded. The guy goes from scoring to facilitating and lock-down D. He can do it all.

If winning an NBA Finals game won't be enough for LeBron, then winning the Finals won't be either if this series continue in this manner and Wade plays the starring role in two more victories. LeBron wants to win. That's not enough for us. We want him to go out and win it and in a specific manner. You can already hear the keyboards clicking now, saying LeBron's first championship didn't count because he wasn't the Finals MVP.

Did you know that in Kobe Bryant's first NBA Finals he shot 37 percent and averaged 15.6 points per game against the Pacers in 2000? But when it's time for comparisons, you only hear that Kobe has five rings, not 4.5.

When Michael Jordan repeatedly passed to John Paxson in the final quarter of the 1991 NBA Finals, it was viewed as a breakthrough, the superstar yielding to the system for the sake of the team. LeBron does it and its treated as an act of cowardice.

With the score tied in the final minute, James had the vision and the skills to fire the ball sideways past a double-team to an open Chris Bosh. James has always shown a willingness to go back to his teammates no matter how poorly they're playing. With the game on the line, he went to a guy who was 6-for-17 at the time, with a scratched eye that left him squinting like The Boondocks' Uncle Ruckus.

Should be good. Van gundy says some smart stuff along with the crazy, so hopefully shifts the split towards smart. I like breen also, he's been a source of sanity in the form of a moderator between the other two. I wonder who they'll add

Ken Berger says it best about Lebron:

You can't credit James for closing out the Celtics and Bulls because the defensive matchups favored him, and vilify him when he steps aside against the Mavs because the matchups favor Wade. This is the very thing his critics (myself included) doubted he'd be able to do. You can't watch LeBron notice out of the corner of his eye -- with his back to the play -- that Udonis Haslem was walling off Dirk Nowitzki to create a wide-open baseline shot for Bosh and say LeBron should've shot the ball instead. Can you imagine the venom if he'd done that, and missed?

I cant hate on Lebron anymore. Sure the 1 hour ESPN special was pretty fucking lame. The guy has been amazing in the playoffs though. He neutered Jason Terry. The guy has been useless in this series. He has been a complete team player and hasn't even been close to a ball hog. He is killing it on defense as well. The guy is the real deal, an all around baller.

I still don't like him, but damn you gotta respect his skills. He is the best player in the NBA (even though I would want Kevin Durant on my team over him)

its natural to be a Lebron hater....I didn't like The Decision much either...it was lame. But he did raise a boat load of money for the Boys and Girls club so props for that. The celebration thing at the arena was pretty damn cool (if you live in Florida..I went and it was a blast!)

As far as James being the best player in the NBA....he is...period. He's a massive offensive threat...plus a LOCK down defensive star. Just ask Jason Terry and Derrick Rose about that....yeah Derrick Rose the guy that won the MVP was SHUT DOWN by Lebron. It was a pathetic offensive series for Rose.

Rose shot 6% while Lebron was matched up on him. Six percent! Do you have any idea how ridiculously amazing that is? This was the MVP of the league being shut down like that.

People are quick to forget that Lebron averaged 38ppg in the series against Orlando a few years back, in which the Cavs lost in six games. A player should never come that close to 40ppg over a series against a good defensive team and be on the losing end.

Lebron can put up the points if needed. He has done it before, but he is more concerned with winning.

I'm not a Lebron hater. Truth is we will never know truly how good Lebron is or could of been. He's a top 5 NBA player for sure. What separates a top 5 talent from an all time great is the ability to close a game out when it's all on the line. Lebron by himself could never do that. If he would of had more help who knows. I'm not being a hater when I say how can you judge Lebron's game anymore now that he's playing with arguably the best player in the NBA in Wade? I bet if you threw in Durant, Nowitzki, or Dwight Howard into the heat instead of James they are at the NBA finals right now too.

There you go again..making too much sense! But it's true....if Lebron has to put up 35 pts..he can do it. But with this team he doesn't have to...he just wants to win. So whatever it is he is doing it's obviously working. The Miami Heat are in the finals..and looking pretty good too.

?

Did you not watch any of the games in the second or third round? Did you not read my two replies to you about what Lebron is doing in this Finals?

Jordan played with two other first ballot Hall of Famers and a Hall of Fame coach. What did he do without Hall of Fame help?

Yes I watched some of the second and third rounds. Point is Lebron is playing with arguably the best single player in the NBA. Put Richard Jefferson out there with the heat and he looks like a HOF.

How good was Pippen really? HOF material? Without Jordan I'm not so sure. You can't bring the Shaq/Kobe argument into it either because Kobe won two rings without Shaq. Please don't say Gasol is a HOF too.

Doesn't matter what I say. I'm just a "hater" either way.

I think you are losing objectivity. You don't have to like the guy, but it is clear that he is the best in the league. I don't like Kobe at all, both on the court and off. He is/was a lethal scorer and a legit HoFer. He probably belongs on the top 15 of all time, but I would love to hear that he got hit by a bus or something.

Pippen carried the Bulls to a 55 win season an the ECF without Jordan, and without an All Star to replace his position either. That right there is enough to show what Pippen was without Jordan.

I've tried to show you "how good" Lebron is despite playing alongside 2 other All Stars. What he is doing for the team is simply astounding, but it takes some careful analysis to see it all. Has Lebron given up some legacy in order to win championships? I don't think so. Once you get a 'ship, or two or three or more, people tend to forget the other stuff (look at Kobe).
