You guys know this answer? From Yahoo finance:
Were these guys recently funded? How are they continuing ops? They had like $38k in cash at end of Sep? Did they raise money in interim? How are they continuing operations?

There are too many unknowns, which is why I did not feel comfortable holding a large position. I flipped some shares from .18 to .20 to get a bundle of "free" shares. That is the only "safe" way to play this IMO and it requires a bit of luck to have caught it on an upswing...

Only time will tell if they are legitimate or not.

whats the news on Rambus? 60cent drop & some volume traded this morning......

60 cent on RMBS is nada.....

And I would rather play the whole Semiconductor Sector as a whole rather than one particular company. Unless you think this company have some competing edge against other competitors. (technology/patents/lower cost-higher margins...etc)

lol make that a 1$, theres some news link about capstone selling their shares on rmbs, not sure if thats causing the dip

Capstone is not selling, they have reiterated strong buy on RMBS. The analyst that is pushing RMBS in Capstone is trying to make a name for himself and RMBS is his push.

Supposedly what is causing the decline is a court order document stating the case is stayed... they're trying to coordinate the RMBS case and the TSRA case against the manufacturers. But it's a COORDINATE, not a CONSOLIDATE, so I think people are reading into the stay too much. It's mandatory for a stay to be ordered, but it's probably temporarily and won't affect the trial date, according to Kramer himself.

RMBS has major support at $16, IMHO I think it's a buy opportunity if you don't have shares or are looking to add.

So, there was a PR from nVidia about USPTO rejection. And I see two sides of the opinions, 1) this is end of Rambus patent fighting - Shorts, and 2) the initial rejection is usual in this kind of case - Longs. Considering it only dropped 3% AH (after up 10% today), I guess it shouldn't be a big deal.

So, can anyone clarify for me? :)

I think the exact same thing happened a few months ago with RMBS and was overturned. Apparently its standard practice to reject the initial claim or something.

GNVC making more moves today, but perhaps it's just another pump and dump... up 20%.

I took this week off from work and just came back from the casino as a big loser...should've stayed home and did some trading instead. I have over 20k shares now, so it's to see a $2k+ paper gain just from GNVC today.

Nvidia likes to PR everything that makes them look good. It's a non-final action from the PTO... Rambus' patents are still valid and enforceable... and judges do not need to listen to the USPTO (U.S. Patent Trademark Office).

The bottom line is, no examination of patents have EVER entered into a final decision. It's always an office non-final action. I think the USPTO is afraid if they ever enter a final decision and it gets ignored/overturned in court, they would lose their aura of power.

so you want me to spoon feed you my due diligence, where you are supposed to do your own DD?

anyway, just spend 5mins at the company website and check out their pipeline, they are not one trick pony. TNFerade = gene therapy. There are currently no FDA approved gene therapy product out there. Can you put a price tag on this if it's approved? can you find me a biotech company with a similar pipeline that was selling for under a buck a share last week?
there is no guarantee in life. they might fail like others before them. Some people like to invest in companies that try to make money from IP/patent lawsuits. I like to invest or gamble, if you want to call that with biotech companies, because that's what I know best as I do have a biochemistry degree.

What's a good, high risk stock I can get into under $10 where I can write some monthly calls and potentially offset my long term bearish attitude?

I'm looking to accumulate some more when/if it drops back down. Maybe someday you can offset your casino visit w/ a nice sustainable GNVC gain! ;)

It's good call imo. Pricing action feels like it's topping and tired. We saw double top and same day reversal which is very bearish. If you look at the pricing action of companies that reported earlier with "good" earnings report like Intel, Goldman, JP MorganChase, etc, pretty much all are trading lower now. Another red flag. Market feels like it's looking for an excuse to sell off. If good news can't rally em...

Stocks movement has been inverse of the dollar. Dollar is due for an reversal IMO and that could pressure equities. We'll see how soon the dip buyers enter to save the day.

I bought even more XLF. I'm not convinced this is a perm turnaround. Financials will eventually show its true colors.

I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. I'm off hunting some Black Friday deals. It's been a tradition since I was an undergrad some moons ago.

SOMX has been up for the last few days, expected FDA approval/denial this Friday for it's insomnia drug Silenor(Doxepin). The drug Doxepin is already approved for the treatment of depression and anxiety at doses of 75mg-300mg. Silenor is 3-6mg of this same drug, so chances are that approval rate is high.
