I thought about this a bit, so here are some slightly far-fetched predictions.

- FFXIII and GT5 get pushed to a 2010 release.
- God Of War 3 - November 2009
- At least 1 independent developer will get bought out by either EA or Activision/Blizzard - dare I guess Silicon Knights? Maybe PopCap Games?
- Halo Wars bombs
- New IP MMORPG for consoles announced by the end of the year.
- New Rock Band peripheral (Keyboard?)
- MGS for 360 announced - it won't be called, Guns of the Patriots - but it will be a port of the PS3 game
- Madden 2010 will have fantasy dynasties
- Xbox Live official price drop
- Sales of all 3 consoles maintain roughly the same pattern - ~500K/month Wiis, ~250K/month 360s, ~225K/month PS3.
- PS3 price drop (given)
- Dead Rising 2
- Mass Effect 2
- Army of Two Sequel called Army of Four (4-player co-op)
- Mirror's Edge 2
- Forza 3 announced (will be released roughly the same time as GT5, if not sooner)
- Pikmin "3" - Roughly a port of Pikmin 2 for Wii
- No DSi in the US
- New Zelda game announced

I'm still not sure what the big-title game for the 360 will be this year. Gears is on a 2-year development cycle, and Halo is out. My guess...

- Splinter Cell: Conviction - November 2009

These aren't really original, or stretching the bounds of the imagination. I could go out on a limb and say Diablo 3 gets announced for consoles, or a new "Wii HD" gets announced. Maybe Major Nelson will step down as the Ronald McDonald of Xbox Live?

I just plan on playing video games.

EA dosent survive the credit crunch and goes bankrupt.

The PS3 falls even further behind the xbox 360, wii still dominates.

PS3 will price drop in July to $299.00, MS will respond in September by dropping Arcade price to $149.00 and Pro will be $229.00.

360 will still dominate PS3, but the wii will still be king at the end of the year.

John Madden will live long enough to see Madden 2010, but that's the end of the road for him.

We will hear more rumors of Apple entering the console market.

Next gen console rumors will be flying by fall.
