On my team my two QB's are Kyle Orton and Shaun Hill. Yeah I know, not the best of the bunch. But do you think it would be a good move to drop Shaun Hill and pick up Joe Flacco? I haven't followed the preseason too much, but it sounds like Flacco has been doing pretty well.

Pick up Flacco immediately. Nobody is going to take hill from you. You could pick him up later in the season if he starts producing.

yes. drop hill for flacco. flacco isnt going to blow up the stat sheet but he'll be decent and a better bet than hill

One of my leagues, I have a very mediocre RB team of Thomas Jones and LenDale White. I just noticed that both Correll Buckhalter and Cadillac Williams are both free agents, and I have no other running backs on my bench. Currently sitting on my bench are a couple receivers though - Tory Holt and Lee Evans (sorry, I have this distinct feeling that the rest of my receiving crew are going to fare better than Evans - Hester/Jennings/Ward). I'm contemplating dropping possibly Holt for Williams or Buckhalter to shore up my running game. Would that even be worth it?

Also - I have the potential to trade possibly a WR for Kevin Smith or Frank Gore. Which would you pick?

Between the two, no question, Frank Gore and if someone is offering you him for one of your WRs I would take that in a heartbeat.

Actually, I just offered up a trade to the owner after picking up Ginn temporarily. He's currently thin on receivers - fielding 3 total, and one of which is Crabtree (HAHAHA) in a 3 WR start league (No Flex). I offered up Holt and Ginn for Smith and Gore (noting that he has Crabtree as a starter). We'll see if he bites. The rest of his RB depth chart is as follows (was autodrafted I believe): McGahee, Leon Washington, Slaton, Julius Jones.

If he accepts the trade, I come out way ahead. If I get EITHER designated back, I'd be happy, giddy if it was either back + Washington/McGahee/Jones at that point.

let us know how it worked out but i suspect you're going to get laughed at. noone in hell i trade either gore or smith for those two wrs. if i were him, i'd offer smith + washington for jennings while pointing out that your rb1 is old, slow, and has a rookie quarterback and here's a young rb with no competition for carries and the handcuff to your old aging rb. worst case i'd settle on sending you slaton for jennings straight up.

I did a 20-man, 14 round league.. QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, PK, DEF..

QB: D. McNabb, N. Davis
RB: S. Slaton, K. Smith, D. Brown
WR: E. Royal, P. Harvin, J. Morgan, E. Bennett, K. Britt
TE: G. Olsen, M. Bennett
PK: N. Kaeding
DEF: Indianapolis

Will be quite interesting.

Of course nobody would rightly take that pick. But the fact that this league is casual, and this individual was likely an autodraft, and probably hasn't looked at his roster in the last month... I figured I'd take a shot in the dark.

Who do you think comes out better in this trade:

Donovan McNabb and
Eddie Royal

for

Peyton Manning and
Steve Breaston

i Think whoever is getting Manning and Breaston is getting the better deal.

Who to start, who to start...I have 4 RBs and only 3 slots. Non PPR league.

DeAngelo Williams
Chris Johnson
Kevin Smith
Ray Rice

Williams is a lock, and I like the Kevin Smith matchup. Which leaves the tough choice of #3. Johnson has a terrible matchup (vs. Pittsburgh), but only splits carries with one other back, and is a better overall player. Rice has a great matchup (vs. KC) and is the "starter", but on a RBBC offense, and has yet to fully prove himself.

I'd use Johnson, even with the tougher matchup.

I agree, he's still going to produce. I'd see Ray Rice does this week before starting him IMO

Ok, who would you choose for RB2 spot:

Mike Bell
Tim Hightower
Chester Taylor

Right now I am leaning heavily toward Bell, since his matchup (Detroit!) looks very favorable.

This week, Bell.

Yeah, he's probably going back to waiver after that. Thanks for quick response!

With that said - should I start Ray Rice or Fred Jackson in RB3 (WR/RB flex) position for Week 1?

And for a second league - Leon Washington or Mike Bell for the same position?

I think I'm fucked

I have the following WR's and I need to start 3

Avery, Ochocinco, Wes Welker, Justin Gage, and Kevin Walter

I benched Gage, he scored 13points last night. Walter/Welker are questionable for Sunday. FML

Welker will be fine I bet, I hope Walter's ok, and I would start Ocho.

So: Welker, Ocho, Walter. Just make sure to check often before Sunday to make sure they're all ok to play.

Welker "should" be fine. Especially against buffalo. Start 85 for sure. I would also say that if you can manage it, you might want to see if you can pick up Josh Morgan if he's available.

Here's another... WR/RB flex spot: Fred Jackson, Michael Jenkins, Donnie Avery, or Anthony Gonzalez?

Lynch is suspended, so I would definitely start Jackson.

Given the options though - considering this IS Buffalo we're talking about and this IS a WR/RB flex position and considering that they are playing IN New England, is Jackson a better choice to start over any of those three receivers?

If you want a safer option, yeah, I'd go with Gonzalez, but I feel hopeful for Jackson, even against the Pats. Your call, really.
