WSH/NYR game is very entertaining... 6-5 Caps.. Soooo many penalties I think 7PP goals so far... Caps are like the Suns of the NHL. All offense and no defense (Theodore sux)

Devils ticket prices are SOARING on the net. My friend was trying to pick up a couple and they jumped $20 in the couple of seconds it took to buy them D:

Wow, I will be in the building tomorrow when Ilya Kovalchuk, the best forward to ever play for the Devils, steps on the ice!!! 😎

🙁 Canucks were still in it as of yesterday, or so I had heard. Damn shame, would like to have seen him out here, though I would have preferred getting Gaborik last year.

Right here! Hopefully this helps get the Devils out of their slump. And hopefully it'll help them win another cup... they're consistently a good/great team, but not quite good enough.

this is awesome for me. i'm going to a Habs game at the end of March in Montreal and they're playing the Devils. So not only will it hopefully have playoff implications but I'll get to see Kovalchuk play 🙂

Damn, Caps and Habs game was crazy entertaining. I can't believe the Habs blew a 3 goal lead. At least they scored in OT to keep their dignity.
 
yeah that game was sweet.

i thought the goal where Ovechkin slammed Hal Gill in the front of the net should have counted though.

if that goal counted, then OV's should have counted as well... it irritates me to no end that the NHL can't be more consistent in their calls.

Flyers-Devils home and home was awesome, or at least for me because I'm a Flyers fan. If this team can find any consistency, they'll make the playoffs. I'm not convinced we're better than a one and done team, but we'll see.

Emery's season might be done. Leighton is looking like a genius pickup so far.

Yeah dude. 6PM EST start time tonight, had to remember that it starts an hour early. Both teams need the points to separate from the pack chasing 6-7-8 in the conference.

I feel ok that the Flyers can take both, but when this team goes cold, it goes COLD. Asham and Carcillo have been providing the spark lately, and while that's great, it'd be better if Hartnell, Gagne, or Briere can start scoring regularly again.

Before the Gagne OT goal 2 nights ago, I can't remember the last time I saw any of those 3 players score. Especially Briere.
 
I can only hope the Avalanche do something today to change up our team just a little bit for a deeper playoff run. I think the Avs can get fairly deep this year with just a few little tweaks.
 
sjwaste: for sure. i have Gagne in my yahoo $ pool... he seemed to be on fire when he first returned from injury but has gone somewhat cold.

i also love that since Getzlaf might not be playing for Canada, they have JEFF CARTER as a backup. holy hockey powers, Batman. not too shabby of a fill-in there

Ouch, too bad on having Gagne there. I'm really hoping he can get his touch back. He might still be injured, because he does seem to avoid the slot quite often.

It's funny you mention Carter. Honestly, I'm American, but it's hard not to root for Canada just a little bit. All of my favorite players are on that damn team! Meanwhile, the US roster has two guys who play for the Devils, that's no good as a Flyers fan! If a D-man gets injured and the US picks up Matt Carle, that might even things out for me.

I tried to make peace by purchasing a USA jersey, but you just can't find the olympic jerseys right now, let alone custom.

Would have been nice, but no such luck. Who would you have liked to have seen gone? Personally I wouldn't mind exchanging Liles, Salei, Clark, Wolski (for the right price), Svatos (for a bag of pucks), Tucker, and that's pretty much it.

There's a freeze for the Olympics, but the trade deadline isn't until March 3rd this year.
