Bouwmeester just signed with Calgary for 5 years at 6.6M per year according to TSN.

The Heatley deal might happen tonight with the Oilers although the Rangers just got rid of some cap in their trade of Gomez with Montreal and they got a nice prospect that might be of interest to Ottawa.

It's over. 🙂 Heatley has been traded to the Edmonton Oilers. Looks like he has agreed to waive his NMC.

To Edmonton:
Dany Heatley

To Ottawa:
Andrew Cogliano
Dustin Penner
Ladislav Smid

Cogs is a good young player. Penner needs to bounce back after two subpar season under McTavish. Smid might be let go to free 2.2M and we could go after Cammalleri.😎

^ people are now saying Heatley refused to waive his no-trade for this one. 😕

Picky picky.

Oh, GO PENS! Hopefully they manage to re-sign scuds and get a stud winger. I'm all for dumping any of gill, boucher, sykora, satan, fedontanko, kunitz, or guerrin to get it done.

pens signed guerin and craig adams...

still waiting on tenk and scuds.

I dont expect them to land any big names, since they have little room left under the cap...

Heatley to Edmonton trade "on hold" waiting for other offers... they have till tomorrow midnight (Thurs morning) before the signing bonus has to be paid to him.

Heater is about the be on the 'most hated list' in three NHL cities. He better not show up for Canada Day in Ottawa.

how come nobody wants to play in Edmonton? It's the terrible weather isn't it? Pronger's wife makes him leave... Nylander opts to sign in DC at the last minute (you can have him now, btw)... Heatley given the option says NO.

Roloson just left Edmonton for the Islanders, too. 😉

All I want is to not have another Detroit-Pittsburgh final.

Also, I want Cindy Crosby to be injured and not be able to play in the NHL anymore. Man, I hate that guy.

Roloson probably praying DiPietro stays healthy so he can earn the easiest paycheck ever.

And yeah, things have been looking bleak in Edmonton... they had to resort to this --> http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Ca...06/28/9961971-sun.html 😉

VERY happy about Knuble coming to Washington... now we have a scoring RW alongside Ovie, and a huge presence for their once-perimeter PP. Now the Caps just need Komisarek (who apparently already said no to hometown NYI).

I wouldn't mind seeing the pens take another run at hossa (for less money than we offered him last year of course).

I would stay away from heatley though. He has a habit of ruining locker rooms.
And Ferraris.

That was a steal of a signing.

Wish he was on the Canucks.

I wonder were Gaborik, Havlat and Cammalleri are going to sign?

Cheers,
Aquaman [glad the Sedins are staying in Vancouver]

former penguin defenseman signs with the canadiens...

dont get your hopes up, you didnt get scuderi...

its only Hal Gill... he kinda reminds me of a really old, really slow, Ray Lewis on skates.

Wow........ Montreal with Gionta and NYR with Gaborik.

Will miss Jason Labarbra as the Canucks backup goalie.

Not too many big pieces out there.......... heard Havlat has a verbal agreement with the Wild.

Cheers,
Aquaman
