I couldn't bear to see that sniveling bitch Eli Manning hold the Lombardi trophy.
It's gotta suck to be a Cowgirls fan. And even suckier to have your own sniveling bitch Terrell Owens, weeping like Hillary Clinton on TV.
Tony Romo? Hehe.

You better be kneeling at Coughlin's altar!
Show the man some respect after belittling him the whole season.
Guilty as charged, TP. When I'm wrong, and in such a public manner, I have no choice but to say so.
Lombardi, Shula, Halas, Landry, Coughlin. Has a nice ring to it.

Why does everyone seem to regurgitate that drivel...the Pats have no rushing defense? While it's true that NE's rush defense wasn't the #1 rush defense during the regular season, it was ranked #10 and gave up an average of 98.2 yards per game, 7 rushing TD's, and 1,572 rush yards during the year.

The Giants, ranked #8 for the season, gave up an average of 97.7 ypg, 12 rush TD's, and 1,563 rush yards total this year.

Doesn't seem like the Pats' defense is that shabby......just about as good as the Giants' rush defense, esp. considering rush TD's given up.

And I honestly don't really think you can give me one example of when NE gave up huge rushing TD's or yards any time this year.

Essentially, when such drivel as "Their running backs will give NE fits" keeps being spouted, it just demonstrates that the person spewing that diarrhea is just repeating crap he's heard and has no understanding of what actually happened this year.....in either the regular season or the playoffs.

You forget though that Jacobs alone had success running the ball against the Pats. Bradshaw was out for that game. Now if the 2 of them are both playing it can be a run fest.

I think the big thing with the Giants is how they are adjusting their defense at half time. The Packers only had like 60 some yards the second half or something like that. And Grant wasnt a factor at all..28 yards on the ground. Heck the Packers only had 260+ yards of offense the whole game. And half of that was Donald Driver and most of that was on the 90 yard td.

And as a Giants fan..i hate Butler with a passion.

don't forget, the pats gabe up aot of rushing yards when they were playing the pass because they had comfortable leads. challenge them to stop the run and you see what happens.

I will preface this by saying that I am a lifelong eagles fan.

But, for the super bowl this year, I am rooting for the giants.

I gotta give them props for making a great playoff run.

And making TO cry is priceless.

Also, I really really hope they take the Pats down (my father in law is a huge Boston and Pats fan).

hmm, you live in NJ tho.

strange. i thought most people in NJ were Giants fans.

me, i'm a Falcons fan but in lieu of anything to really root for and because most of my friends in NJ are Giants fans, i've been rooting for them this playoff season. they've been a very very interesting ride.

really, there is only one thing to say.

"Any given Sunday. . ."

Except the Giants have had a sensational playoff season, pulling upsets over the Cowboys and Packers when nobody expected them to beat Tampa Bay. Add that to the fact that the played New England as best as anyone could have in the last game of the season, and I don't think you can be this certain. And before anyone makes comparisons to the Chargers letdown, the Giants proved themselves twice in elimination against the two best teams in the NFC who were also among the top five in the league. The Chargers pulled an upset and then ran out of gas. This will be a great Super Bowl, possibly more so than it would have been if Green Bay were there.

the only thing that could have made this super bowl better in my opinion, is to have had San Diego beat NE and see a Rivers / Manning face off. talk about media blowing drama way out of proportion. it would have been hilarious.

but this is a great story.

i'm wondering where all the Eli haters are these days?

I admit I had given up on Eli, I thought he was a bust. I was a big supporter until the Vikings game when I decided that what we were seeing is what he is and he wasnt going to get better. I'm thrilled to be wrong. His play since week 17 has been exceptional. Gilbride realized that Eli is not the type of QB who can always be taking long shots down the field, and he tailored the offense to Eli's strengths. He has responded with one bigtime performance after another. I';m so freaking excited now I don't know what to do with myself.

the weird thing is, the biggest knock on eli was his accuracy, i think that was actually very wrong.

he is very very accurate in a 10 to 20 yd range. he doesn't seem as good beyond 25 yrds. in the green bay game yesterday, his passes were so on the money it made me want to cry. i'm serious, even the drops were right on the money.

I think NE vs. NY will be great as is: The New Story vs. History. I'm excited!!!

By the way, what's the backstory to Rivers/Eli?

They were essentially traded for one another. Giants traded rivers and 3 picks to the Chargers to get him. Chargers used Draft picks to get Shawne Merriman and Nate Kaeding.

you missed the biggest point, the chargers traded eli because he refused to play for the chargers. the irony here is, with all of the draft picks the chargers go, and merriman was obviously a HUGE one, the giants still got to the super bowl first.

They key will be which team, Chargers or Giants win the SB first. Getting there also depends on the teams that one faces when climbing the ladder. If both lose to the Pats, both teams will be 0-2 against them. Therefore it makes no difference.

a crying shame that it isn't Packers / Pats.

i don't know if i can take seeing so much of baby Eli's whiny little baby emo face.

a travesty in sports, to be sure.

no more dream Packers / Pats superbowl.

boo urns

the travesty was the bad calls vs the giants yesterday. it was CLEAR who the NFL wanted in the super bowl this season.

I have friends in south Jersey (closer to Philly than Newark) who are Eagles fans. I thought it was common for people down that way to be Eagles fans.

South Jersey are mostly Eagles fans. Central and North Jersey are Giants fans for the most part. A few Jets fans sprinkled in.

It was clear in 1912 that the government wanted the Titanic to sink so that Hollywood could make the highest grossing film of all time. :shiftyeyes;

How does ice cut metal, you ask? The Titanic was made of tinfoil!!

Worse than the bad calls were the no-calls on obvious penalties. I don't think it was intentional, I think officiating in general has taken a big dive this season.

so true, and i'm not one to complain about officiating, but the refs made some key poor calls that really gave the Pack second chances they never should've had. it did reak of conspiracy.

Blah blah... people said the same thing about Jax's running trio of Morris Drew-Jones, Fred Taylor and Gerrard 🙂laugh🙂. They gave the Pats so much trouble that the Pats ended up rushing more than the whole Jax combined.

People forgot that the last two playoff games have been in terrible weather and freezing conditions. Come Feb. 3rd, it'll all be warm and peachy, you just hope that the Giants don't fall too far behind on points after the second quarter.

You seem to forget Jacobs had no problem running on the Pats the first time..

67 yards for zero TDs isn't going to get it done since we know Eli isn't going to have 4 TDs this time around.

give me 20 to 1 and i'll put up $20.00, you willing to put up $400.00?

Vegas favoring the Patriots by 13 points. Might have to take the Giants with the points here in hopes for a close game.
