It's way to early to start counting chickens before they're hatched, but the thought of a Wings/Hawks western conference final is something I was looking forward to when I first saw the post season schedule. An original six match up that hasn't happened in years and years and that reinvigorates a rivalry that used to be so good. The Hawks gave the Wings fits during the regular season too.

Let's hope they [Caps] actually show up to the game this time. Where the hell were they in the 3rd period? The announcer noticed they didn't have the usual spark and intensity they had in previous games.

No. Simply for the history between the two franchises, I'm hoping Detroit and Chicago meet in the Western Finals and that goes 6 or 7. I can also hope that the Bruins pull their heads out their asses and get to the Stanley Cup Finals then too. How great would an Original 6 series be? In my opinion; epic.

Pitt/Washington has been an awesome series to watch when I can. NHL needs to just 'give' their games away to ESPN.
 
I don't understand why Anaheim gets screwed from Versus? Here in Detroit if the first game goes long (OT?) they stop showing that game and start the feed for the local market. In Anaheim they show the first game until completion and then break into their local feed. If the Boston/Carolina game goes through the 3rd overtime, Anaheim sees nothing. WTF!!

This wings game is getting ridiculous. Throwing out every wings player on the faceoffs, and now this BS call on rafalski. Plus the early whistles going again (series should have been over anyway). These refs need a check.
 
Wow line brawl at the end of the Wings/Ducks game. Niedermayer throwing an elbow at Datsyuk's head. I wonder if there will be anything that comes out of this brawl from the league.

Wings played an uninspired game, didn't really deserve to win. Hopefully game 5 Wings show up for game 7 or they will be playing golf this weekend.
