Ovechkin was great at the All Star game. He's a great entertainer and an even better hockey player. Not to knock Sid but Ovechkin would do better as the "face" of the NHL since he's got more of the charisma for it. Watching Crosby do a bit on Hockey Night in Canada was painful to say the least and it didn't look like he was comfortable doing it.

Now if they would only clean Ovechkin up a little so he doesn't look like a freaking hobo. 😀

Crazy thing is the Oilers didn't really play that bad so far... except for a bunch of dumb penalties that were hardly even penalties 0_0

Miller is hot right now. I actually started Roli over Miller in my fantasy league tonight. boy oh boy, gotta stop making those homer moves 🙂
 
anyone know about insurance? If they get hurt with a career-ender do they still get paid the full length of the contract? Is it only through insurance? Ovechkin signed for 13-years too and he's a human wrecking ball... who knows if he'll play all 13.
 
^ so in other words, the Isles current payment of about $225k per year in DiPietro's insurance instead of his full 4.5mil annual salary is well worth it. 😉 They're also sh!tting bricks about him getting hurt after his 6th year as they'll be fully responsible for his salary regardless. 😀
 
the way Ovechkin's deal was put together - I believe they may have worked around the 7-year coverage limit. They negotiated a 6-year deal first, then a 7-year deal on top of it. That's how it was reported... but not sure how it was handled on paper.
