For anyone in here that plays hockey, I just got a replacement blade for my composite shaft, but the place couldn't put it in for me. Can I use a hair dryer or stove to heat the glue?
I'm pretty old school and still use wooden sticks, but buddies of mine usually heat theirs up with a little torch. I'm sure if a hair dryer can get it hot enough though, it will do just fine.

edit: I'm looking to buy a composite stick but I'm kinda low on cash for that right now :p
I noticed some TPS composites for around $80 though.
Yeah, those one piece composites are way too expensive. I like the lightness of the composite shaft, but I use it for street hockey and I don't tape my stick either so I go through blades endlessly. Maybe I can get a plastic blade or something.

3/4 in the second round.
1/4 on correctness for number of games played.

My third round picks:
Ottawa > Buffalo in 7. (Meaning it could go either way really.)
Anaheim > Detroit in 6. (It'll be a hard fought series, but i just don't see teh Wings coming out of this.)

2/2 in the third round.
1/2 on correctness for number of games played.

Thus far i'm 10/14...

Predictions for the Cup:

Ottawa Senators > Anaheim Rubber Duckies in 6.

Sens in 4

Gigeurre carried the Ducks this far, but won't be able to carry them any further.

How come you don't tape your stick?

It depends on what you like. When I played ice I kept half my sticks untaped and half with just a bit of tape on the end of the blade. I liked the feel of the puck on the stick so much more without the tape, but the tape allowed me to have a bit more shot control on my wrister.

I've never tried taping, honestly. But when I used a friend's taped stick, I didn't like the friction of the tape sliding on asphalt. I don't have much of a shot, so I tend to try to deke, and the blade slides around more easily without tape.

I tape my whole blade and wax it too. The wax is great for feel but I like it because my tape-jobs last longer.

No disrespect intended, but Stills butchered your anthem... Does he have health issues? (besides just being an old guy). Crosby Stills & Nash were awesome and I remember him being able to sing quite a bit better, but maybe that's what 30 years will do for you.

Hmm, Sens started out strong, but the Ducks were dominating for a few minutes there, & honestly, the Ducks seems stronger in the corners...

I suspect this is gonna be one long series, & TBH, i'm a bit concerned for the Sens, even though it's 1-1 & the 1st period isn't even done.
