Sweet. Buffalo holds on for the victory. They were up 3-0 in the third, but the Islanders fought back. 4-3 final, and Buffalo wins the series! 😀

Hehe, just heard Tortarella(sp) say "GTFO of here" on TV at the end of game Media scrum. 😀 He seems rather abrasive to the Media.

Sabres win, but even though they wrapped up the series in 5 games, they really didn't dominate this series.

I think they're gonna be in for a tough battle second round.

Just like i figured, TB lost their series last game (when NJ won 4-3 in OT) 🙁

Sharks have done well against the Preds...wouldn't surprise me if they find a way to finish things up in the third period.

NYR over ATL - 4-0
PIT over OTT - 1-4

CGY over DET - :clock: 2-2
ANA over MIN - 4-1
VAN over DAL - 3-2
SNJ over NAS - 4-1

No real surprises here, other than totally underestimating Ottawa. I think I'm about 2-3 years too early in picking Pittsburgh.

Incidentally, it's been amazing watching Luongo and Turco battle it out, particularly game 5. I still think Luongo has the upper hand, but not by much.

I will be shocked if VAN and NJD do not win their respective series.

I'm inclined to agree with you now. 😉

Hopefully the Devils can put it away in TB on Sunday.

Where are the Predator fans who said they'll beat us? Pwnage.

Nashville Predators is probably the most classless team in the playoffs. Good thing is that they're out. w00t.

Here's my predictions so far:

Preds

Here's my pool picks. I'm in the lead right now but in trouble if TB goes down. I'm the only guy in the 40-man pool that picked Nylander though, so that might help.

1 Thornton J
2 Marleau P
3 Demitra P (out)
4 Gaborik M (out)
5 Lecavali V
6 Stlouism M
7 Briere D
8 Vanek T
9 Jagr J
10 Nylander M
11 Crosby S (out)
12 Datsyuk P

dang... should have been consistent with my series predictions. oh well it helps if you don't pick your guys in 5 minutes 😛

They may have classless players, but I don't think it's fair to characterize the whole team as such.

While Forsberg took a lot of penalties, I think part of it was to try to get them going. You gotta appreciate that he at least played with some heart.

Besides, San Jose hasn't really won anything yet, 12 more to go!!!

WTF is wrong with the Flames? They went crazy the last ten minutes of that game. They were getting their butts kicked but that doesn't give them the right to be dirty. McLennan is defintely going to get suspended. Iginla should but he won't.

Why the hell was Iginla out there with 70 seconds left in a 5-1 game anyway? This isn't the first time he has acted like this either. The guy is a punk when he loses.

The McLennan thing really surprised me. He doesn't even play in the game and is only out there for a few seconds before he starts hacking away at people!

I was shocked too. I am a Wings fan. I knew immediately that all of my friends that are Wings fans were going to say that he was sent out there to do that. I don't believe that at all. I'm not sure what his problem was. Some Calgary fans are saying it's because the Wings are running Kiprusoff, but I haven't seen that at all. Both team's goalies have been "involved".

Should be interesting to see what happens in the next 24 hours.

At first, I thought there was no way he was sent out to do that... But the more I think about it, the more I'm not so sure.

He was out there a whopping 6 or 8 seconds before he started slashing at Franzen. And the two-hander was done right in front of the refs and the world to see... It wasn't even in the heat of battle like Chris Simon's was a few weeks ago.

Neither Franzen, nor anyone else, did absolutely anything to provoke him.

Their bench was complaining all game how the Wings were running into the goalies... Maybe this was a premeditated way of getting them back. Besides, it's not like losing McLennan is going to hurt them.
