Congrats to the Cards. The one team I think NOBODY picked outside of Missouri wins it all. Good for them. They did well against the Padres, had a great battle with my Mets that ended with a win in a thrilling game 7 and now they take advantage of every Tiger mistake to win it all.

On top of that Weaver may have finally found himself a home in St. Louis and the Cards now know what they have in guys like Wainwright (WICKED curve).

Congratulations Cardinals fans.. you guys waited over 20 years for this.

Wow this is so special. I have never had any of my teams win the entire thing.

And how much of a class-act is Eckstein. Pujols gets the attention for being a class act on and off the field, but I think the one person who exemplifies that more is Eckstein.

Good game Tigers! Its been an incredible, series and season!

Also, Jim Leyland is quite possibly one of the best managers I have ever seen.

Congratulates the St. Louis Players first, then takes the entire weight of the team on his shoulders. What a guy!

Congrats cards fans. I hate the NL but the Tigers sure didn't deserve it.

Wanna know what really sucks???!!!

I set the TiVo to record the game. I came downstairs and thought nothing of it. The b/f calls me and says he will be home shortly and cant wait to see the game. I run upstairs to check that all is well and come to find that the tivo stopped recording 8th inning, two outs!

I watched the game, but him... poor guy is out in the pouring rain, busting his ass working and the end of the game was not recorded.

Kind of a crappy world series. Would have been better if Detroit didn't throw it away.

Weaver really came through in the last 4 weeks, I never dreamed he would pitch like this. The Pujols/Weaver play in the 7th with Weaver trying to find the base on the run and stab it with his foot was eerily similar to the way Todd Worrell did it 21 years ago, except they called it right this time

Eckstein cracked me up with the line about the car -- this is the first car I can call my own from the beginning

That's a World Series winner!

Have some hot food waiting for him. Then just say you're sorry. Works for me. ;)

did you mean larussa?

no, Leyland was interviewed and congratulated the cardinals, then when asked if it was his offense or defense that failed he answered by taking the blame

Exactly. LaRussa is my favorite manager seeing as he manages my favorite team. He is a class-act, and manage s an amazing game. But the fact that Leyland had the poise and class to compliment St Louis and then take the weight on his shoulders is amazing.

He did not ask me to tiVo it, I took it upon myself. When I saw what happened, I scrambled to TiVo enough post game crap to show what he missed. And a hot meal and warm hug is a given.

Congrats Cards & Cards fans

Would have been nice to see the Tigers not hand them a couple games, but oh well.
