Quick question. Edmunds said, "Dimensions are expected to increase in every aspect..." Is that a good thing? Would it be good if the next redesign included more increased dimensions in every respect? How big is too big?

A friend just purchased a new Camry, which is as large as my in-law's older Avalon. Good move, IMO. Just wondering why it took so long, or why they were so small in the first place? 😕 Will this trend continue? Next thing you know, they'll be RWD V8s!

Bah,
What I want is an AWD version of the Honda Accord V6 4-door sedan. So I won't need a second car to drive in the snow when heading up to the mountains to ski. Tire chains suck.

Pcmodem,

Since there are rumors of the Accord Wagon making a return (though not at launch this fall) I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some sort of AWD VTM-4 arrangement on an Accord Wagon.

Well supposedly there are rumours of the VTM-4 making it into the 3-series fighter tentatively called the UD or whatever. Don't remember, details have been sketchy and it's not due until March so who knows. If they going to spend some resources converting it for that sedan use, why not just bring it over to the Accord.

My friend just got $30k to buy a car. Any recommendations. Altima is nice, but quality has been poor I've heard, and the interior is terrible. He doesn't want the Impreza, RSX and A4's because everyone has them. TL is about to be replaced. He's been looking at the Nissan SE R SpecV? LoL... of all the cars to pick, he wants that one. Please give me some better options to introduce to him. I tried selling him on the upcoming Mazda 6 series too.

I would go with the new A4, possibly one with Multitronic transmission (CVT.) Everyone has 'em? Not the new bodystyle...besides who cares if everyone else drives it? Everyone drives a 93-00 3 Series too, but they're still great cars.

Why? He's going to sell himself on what ever he likes. You can almost buy a Spec-V and an XE for 30 gz. Who's paying for it, you, or him and his parents?

An interesting bit from The Car Connection (but no pics):

Message: And I can tell you the coupe photos from a few weeks ago were real. The back end looks very much like a Mercedes. The front is very clean, and modern in the details. The sedan looks to me like a cleaned up CTS from the side. The cars look larger and more imposing in real life. Still a pretty conservative design, but light years ahead of the current one.

My dad works at the Honda plant in Marysville, Ohio where all the Accords are made. He has already seen it. The employees get to see the new models before they start producing them like 6 months in advance. He said it is awesome looking, and he is actually buying one in September. (he has to order it in advance to get exactly what he wants.)

Well I can tell you are about 12 years old by your response.

First off, NO CAR is fully produced in the United States. None.

The closest things are cars that are manufactured in the US. Honda manufactures ALL Accords, most Civics, Acura TLs and CLs, and ALL Goldwings here in Ohio.

"Go American or go home"........... I am home, bastard!

Okay can anyone verify if these pics are real? What a disappointment? Well actually, this might help the resale value of my 2002 Accord...

Working now, just overloaded as hell...

I really hope that's not it, whatever that is, and I agree with you, is fugly. That silver trim has got to go. The whole thing looks like ass. Those spy pics were really cool too 🙁

Temple of VTEC says credibility is 10/10--they haven't given that to any other photographer. There is not a shred of Photoshopping being done, especially since these are motion shots! Those photos are confirmed to have come from outside LA a couple of days ago. This has got to be the biggest disappointment ever. No wonder Honda wanted to cover it up. That rear end looks like it belongs on some sort of galactic junk cruiser, not a car! And wtf did they make it look like a Chrysler Civic in the front??

Ehh it looks kinda odd......I'll admit I hated the current gen Accords when they first came out but it grew on me.....it'll probably grow on everyone in time

LOL...no wonder we couldn't find pics for 3 days....NO ONE WANTED TO TAKE A PICTURE!

Also, you can tell that driving tests were done in some remote location and not in downtown Hollywood...

Ack! Is it just me or has the Accord gotten aesthetically worse with each of its last two redesigns? I still like the mid-90s ones far better than the present model or this 2003 model.

What's so good about an Accord? Why does anybody want to see this car? I would be excitied to see a ferarri or something,
