Official 2/19/20 democratic debate thread

I'll be watching this one tonight because it may be the most important debate so far due to Bloomberg appearing on stage for the first time.

I think this debate is essentially make or break for Bloomberg. He's probably bought his way as far as he can. Now he has to convince voters in real time that he is a viable candidate.

He has a lot to answer for: stop and frisk, redlining, not supporting Obamacare, sexual harassment claims, etc. Most critical for him will be how he answers those questions.

If he flops tonight, then the suggestion from his campaign that other moderates need to drop out will be turned on its head to, maybe Bloomberg should drop out to make way for the other moderates. If he hits a home run, then his argument has some traction.

It will be interesting. I think everyone is going to gang up on him, and rightfully so. The DNC just changes their debate rules as they see fit and that must piss off some of the others. I think he crashes and burns tonight. With the way things are these days though, who knows? I'm curious to see if the moderators give him a tough time or not.

It is interesting to think that all Bloomberg's campaign money spent so far could be rendered useless in the space of two hours on a Tuesday. He can afford to hold out longer than other candidates if things go badly, but no amount of money will help if primary voters are disillusioned with him.

Bloomberg is probably the best chance to get the presidency back for the Democrats IMO. Bernie is way too far left for anyone over 35. Booty juice is going to go over like a lead balloon with blacks. Sorry guys but all these candidates are underwhelming. I'd love to believe in a Bernie revolution but dude is spewing straight garbage fantasies with no actual plan. Like his ideas on protecting the environment but beyond that dude is in lala land.

So what? Is he right? Isn't it worth fighting for what's right? What's going to get you a better result, fighting for what's right, or fighting to some imaginary tolerable midpoint?

I'll be 40 this year, voting for Sanders in the primary and hopefully the election. I dont think you know what you're talking about.

I love it when conservatives tell us that what every other country does and has been doing for decades is "garbage fantasy" and/or "lala land" and then wonder why liberals don't take them seriously. Must be that liberal mainstream media rotting our brains because it can't possibly be that Fox News has made you all into drooling idiots.
