ya, I'll be buing some blank dvds too. I'm almost out...

FYI on the memory card readers. I bought one a while back for compact flash cards. Assuming it's still the same model, it works pretty well!

I agree about the khypermedias being "iffy" - I had a pack of 25 that just wouldn't burn right on my Lite-On 851s - since the LiteOn was new, I blamed it and got an 811s to replace it. Still no good.

Got TDK dvd blanks from costco - burned fine.

Just FYI.

I had a 50:50 success failure rate with KH DVD+R on my Lite-on. Finally moved on to Ritek G04 have been trouble free ever since. KH is also notorious in screwing up with your rebate so beware. Buy with little expectations.

I just got burned on a Khypermedia rebate from OM, claimed I had an incorrect UPC

watch out

Same here, got a card claiming that I mailed the incorrect UPC. This was for the 100-pk 48X CD-R spindle. :disgust:

You guys do the complaining, and when and if my card comes to deny the rebate for me, I can call, and they will be aware of their fraud they are creating. I couldnt decide whether to send the one on the top or bottom. THey both looked identical.

I will call and complain, and go to the store, with my copies, and complain, Maybe even take them back in, and ask for a refund.

Tom

Back in an August promotion, I bought a Kypermedia CDr spindle and it was denied because of the UPC. I called and the CSR corrected the mistake. Unfortunately, the rebate has still not been paid despite it being "valid" for what seems like forever. It's only for $8, so I'm not out a whole lot. Considering all the FAR items I've actually gotten free, $8 really isn't much of a loss in my opinion.

OfficeMax rebates have gotten HORRIBLE, IMO. The only rebates I've had problems with. The latest one I'm fighting over is a rebate I mailed on 12/12/03....they claim the postmark is 12/30/03...wth? They are "looking up the submission", but I may end up having to go to OM B&M to get this one. This is about the third OM rebate I've fought with in the past 6 months, but the first one that has escalated past, "I'm sorry sir, I'll push this one through just this once."

Same here too. I just called the phone number on the card, got through to a live voice; he asked me to read the numbers off the copy of the UPC that I kept, then told me the rebate would be on the way in 6-8 weeks.

It wasn't much hassle, but it was totally unnecessary.

another hot deal that might have been overlooked is the external usb floppy drive for $10 after rebate, might be nice to remove your computers of a floppy but still have the ability to quickly hook one up should the need ever arise, plus most bios allow for usb floppy booting.

OfficeMax rebates are an absolute pain. Over half of the valid ones I submit get rejected for various reasons and I basically have to threaten them to get my money.

most problems with OM rebates seem to point ack to the Khypermedia products. I also had the "wrong UPC" denial, but a phone call resolved the issue and the rebate has been received.

On a positive note, I received my Khypermedia DVDRW rebate in a record setting 28 days! Go figure.

BTW, does anyone know what's on the substitution list for the 25-pack of dvdr's??????
