Officemax Mad Dog Dominator 4x DVD-R misprint.

In the current ad for Officemax 6/20 - 6/26
The Mad Dog Dominator drive on sale states that the drive utilizes both DVD-R and DVD+R (read the last line in the ad), even though the actual drive on sale is ONLY a 4x DVD-R/-RW.

I was able to get them to match the after-rebate price on the 8x DVD-R/+R drive(normally 129.99) In-Store due to the misprint. Thats a 70.00 savings.

This is my first post, sorry if not clear.

Anyway, I think its a steal if your local store is as generous as mine was.

Unfortuantely, we have all bought something. And the dang thing goes on sale the next day. Dude, just tell them to price match the lower price on Wed.

i cant see the ad.... the link expired..... how do i get to it? when i browse the circular it shows me the 6/20-6/26 stuff

is there a way to make sure that these are NEC 2500A's ?

I was just about to buy 3 of the NEC's from newegg (one for me and two for my friends) alongwith the bytecc external usb2.0 cases.

should I rush to OM instead?
are mad dog rebates reliable?

any info would be appreciated.

Yes. The bottom of the box isn't taped. If you use better than gorilla precision, you can open the bottom of the box to check the contents while leaving it "sealed".

I picked one up this morning for $79.99 ($30 rebates prints instead of $40 advertised) and used a $10 off $40 snail mail coupon, making this ~$45AR/AC and tax. The drive inside is a ND-2500A, just as expected. 😀

I really don't know of any drives in the "MD-8XDVDRW-PM" boxes that are anything but a ND-2500A.
