best buy open box is for that particular store
saw this in sears open box a year ago for $129.88, but that don't count either
anyway, dude @ the top, that is the best price going right now. most stores have it on clearance, bringing in the new hp models -- but that doesn't mean that these aren't better quality. a lot of manufacturers are removing features so they can sell cheaper to begin with (imo)
have no idea about print quality -- hp makes nice papers, but that photosmart 100 and 312/318 unhhh i have seen those
keep posting

I have the Photosmart 1115. It is the best printer I have ever owned. It's so good, that my friend bought one the first time he saw a picture I printed using this printer. If you use quality paper (HP paper looks the best so far), then you will be impressed with the results. I got a great deal on IBM paper, but I'm very disappointed in the quality of the pictures.

Pluses: Very sturdy and quiet. Can be used to print two sided copies. Has slots for flash cards (saves you money on adapter purchases). Can print pictures directly without having to turn on the computer. Has adapter to print 4x6 photo paper. Comes with great editing software.

Minuses: Has more desk vibration due to heaver weight. Ink (HP 45 and 78) is expensive. I tried cheaper "refilled" cartridges and wasn't impressed with the quality. You want the real HP ones and no one I know has a deal on them. HP had a recall on some of the power cords. If they are grey, then they supposedly have a shock hazard when removed from the back of the printer. HP promises free replacement. I haven't bothered to replace mine yet. No problems.

It's black and grey, looks pretty sharp.

I'd guess that the high price hurt HP and they will phase these guys out. Too bad, they are really nice printers. If I could only locate some low priced ink, they would be perfect. They have a really nice "heavy-duty" feel to them. I bet they last quite a while if not abused.

If you like to print pictures using your computer, then this might be one of the very best for it. It also doubles has a reliable "everyday" printer, but the color cartridges cost almost $50 bucks.

I have the HP 1115. ( Same as 1215, as far as printing is concerned). The readers are nice, but I've since moved on to Dazzle 6 in 1 readers which are now attached to the side of my monitor ( on both my computers ). Dazzle is also much faster than the HP reader.

Beautiful prints. I refill my carts and love it. I've compared them to prints with original carts and can only tell the difference under a magnifying glass. Sooooooo cheap to refill. Even if you don't want to get involved in refilling 3 colors then just refill black. It's so darn easy to refill black. And I was surprised to find out how much black ink is used to print photos. So just refill black will bring down the cost considerably.

As far as paper..........No comparison as far as I'm concerned. Office Depot Glossy Professional ( about $10.99 25/pk) is fantastic. So much better than the HP paper. Also better than Sam's paper/ Epson Glossy ( Epson Matte is excellent ) & Xerox paper.

At least IMHO :)
