Would this 160gb drive work in a Tivo HDVR2 DirectTV receiver? Don't burn me, I'm really new to the Tivo mod thing. I just thought someone might know off hand.

are the 1st 137gb accessable w/o a ATA133 card?
Answering my own question, it looks like WD has a bootloader w/their data lifeguard tools that will let you access the full drive if your hardware doesn't support it

The newest drives over 137 gb don't come with a controller card or a 3 year warranty. I think it's because Microsoft fixed the problem reading drives over 137 gb with the SP1 patch.
Nope. It's likely because ATA133 is more widely used now and manufacture probably want to cut cost. Even with SP1, you still need ATA133 on your system.

Personally, I'm going to wait until next weeks ad comes out with the 250 gig WD and see what kind of price that comes to after rebate.

Looks like the 250GB is not 2/15 - 2/21 but should be the week of 2/22 - 2/28 (along with the 40GB)
Next week it looks like the 80GB drive goes on sale...again.

There is a hot deal on the 512mb Lexar 12x Compact flash cards. I'd rather have the 40x cards, but these still much faster than most CF card available at retail. They are $99.99 out the door and there is an additional $20 MIR that isn't in the ad, so they are $79.99 AR.

I got a $25 off $100 coupon in the mail today for online or telephone orders. That would make this deal $55 AR. The online price is $149.99. The CSR wouldn't allow both a price adjustment to the ad price of $99.99 and the $25 off coupon! Anybody know how to make this deal work? Thanks, Northland

Unless the coupon stipulates that it is only good for specific items or if the CF card has a listing of "no coupons allowed" like they've done with the HD, I don't see how they can deny you from using the coupon. I guess I'll be looking for a 20 off 100 coupon so that I can get in on this deal. I need a CF![]()

I think one of the best deals in this week's ad is the 5 shelf bookshelf for $19.99 ($20 instant rebate off regular price). These aren't great quality, but they're nice for the garage or a closet--and they run $40 at Wal-mart. I bought several and got free shipping so I don't have to pick these things up. Very nice!
Search for item 20735965 or 20735956.
