sorta ripped from fatwallet.

OfficeMax has the canon i860 for $119 item #: 20686438

Outpost has it here for $79.99

PM OfficeMax to Outpost

Apply a $10 off $75 coupon that is floating around at a certain chubby site.

$30 Mail in rebate
$20 Gift card by mail
Found Here just do a search for i860. there is an additonal $30 MIR listed, but it is past the expiration date.

so.... $79.00 - $10 = $69.99 - $30 = $39.99 - $20 Giftcard = $19.99 (+ tax on $69.99 if applicable)

First CSR wouldnt PM, second did it with NP, so YMMV.

Anyone know if this was at Fry's BM too? Paid $99 about two weeks ago....

EDIT: Apparently its $89 at Frys...I guess I could get $10 refunded, but I think I would rather pay $10 not to stand in the Customer Service lines!

Ok,we'll see how this goes.I ordered it for $119.98 and threw in some pencils to bring it over $120,used the Fw link to Discover Card for the $10 off $120 coupon.Sent the order # in to pricematch to Outpost, and pipicked up the rebate and gift certificate forms. If all goes well:
$119.98 Pricematched to $79.00 = $119.98-$45.99 (115% of the difference)=$73.99
$73.99-$10 coupon= $63.99
$63.99-$30 MIR= $33.99
$33.99-$20 gift card= $13.99

Super hot deal if everything works.Keeping my fingers crossed.Nice printer.

$10 off $75 wouldn't work for me either,so I went down the coupon list till I found one that worked. You don't have to have a Discover card to use the coupon from their site.

hm, maybe i got lucky with the coupon. the CSR i got was super nice, she never even bothered to check the prices. when i called she said the price was $149, i told her online it said $119 and she adjusted it. i asked to PM and she asked how much it was, i told her $79 and she adjusted it without checked, then she asked if i had any coupons, she asked for the number, then for how much off it was.

even if u can't get the $10 off coupon working, its still pretty hot., this is a VERY nice photo printer.

havent used a generic cartridge since they gunked up my epson, which is why I had to buy an i860...

even at that, i'm not sure any cheap cartridge would give good results on this printer. I can say for 100% perfect prints you need to use cannon paper. You can print a photo on cannon paper, then on standard generic/epson/hp photo paper hold them side by side and you'll notice the standard paper is slightly fuzzy where the cannon paper print will be as good as a real photo.

hmm... an ip line? I've missed out on hearing about that, thought the i960 was the newest at double the i860 resolution.

I needed a better printer for my Digital Rebel, and my old canon s300 wasn't so good for photo's.I like the 25 ppm in b/w that this one has.So here's how it went.
After sending in the pricematch they said the $10 overnight delivery charge that Outposts charge would be added to their total price, making it $89.99.They deducted the $10 coupon from their price making their price $109.99 making a total difference of $20.Then they subtracted 100% of the difference (not the 115% as stated on their website) from the difference making it $89.99 total.More than Outpost's 3 day shipment price. So I called up.Why would I use a coupon,I told them,if it was going to increase my final price??I would get a better price if I didn't use it ,because the difference would be greater and times 115%.Got a good operator and adjusted the price to the correct $63.99.$13.99 after rebate and gift certificate.WOOOHOOO!!
Best to call instead of doing online.Online adjustors will do everything to make the company profit more.Do your homework, then call and explain. And above all be courteous.Arguing with them won't get you anywhere. If the operator isn't seeing things the way you do,tell them thanks but no thanks, call again and try for a better operator. It works.

I went online and requested a pricematch because 4 CSR's shot me down. This is the letter I just got from them.

Dear OfficeMax Customer,

Thank you for your recent inquiry.
Unfortunately, we will be unable to process your pricematch request.
The current price of the Canon I860 printer through Fry's Outpost is
also $119.99. Per their corporate office, the $79.99 price which was
originally listed was a typographical error.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may be to you.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Thank you for your interest in OfficeMax.

I couldn't believe it. I went back to Outpost and checked the price again and it was still $79.99. I sent back a heated email. Thats a bunch of crap.

This was my email back to her,

The price at Outpost is not an error. If it was an error it would have been fixed. You can goto the link http://shop4.outpost.com/product/3783376 and see that it is at $79.99. There is no way that you secretly know that this is a error in price without them knowing and changing it. I don't understand the problem. Now being such a huge company, I wouldn't expect you to try to sleaze me out of a pricematch. But then again maybe that is what your whole "115% Price Match Guarantee" is based upon. Listen if you can't follow out on this simple task, just cancel my order.

Then she responded with,

Dear OfficeMax Customer,

Below I have posted the URL from Outpost.com which confirms their corrected price of $119.99. Even if their cost was $79.99, their shipping charges would still bring their total higher than the OfficeMax price.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Thank you for your interest in OfficeMax.

I don't know what her deal is. She's such a ho.

here's what happened to me...

called and spoke with Rob. Told him Outpost had it on sale for $79.99. He checked and said, no, that's the price after rebate. I said no, that's the price that you pay when you add it to your cart. I asked "did you add it to your cart?" He said, "No, I'm not planning to buy it." He then goes on to say that has to be the price after rebate, because Outpost wouldn't sell it for $49 after rebate. I said that if he read the rebate that comes up, it's already expired, so how can that be an after rebate price?

So I ask to speak to his supervisor, Josh, who tells him to tell me that they already had a memo on this and it is an back-to-school special and they can't honor it. I then demand to speak to his supervisor.

I ask why they cannot PM a special...it's the same as a sale price. He then proceeds to tell me that they can only PM a reg price item. WHAT??? I tell him that's the first time I've ever heard of that policy. He then does some checking as I'm not ready to let him off yet. He checked the website and did verify the price, but says he has to send a request to a different dept. to handle it because the PM is too much, and that because it's an internet site that they are PMing, he cannot do it automatically (which sounds like BS to me); if it was a b&m store, it'd be OK.

So, I await to hear back on their denial of the PM.

Dear Santa,

Please do something about those bone-heads at OMax. Else, those poor souls may be out of jobs soon. Lousy CSR means less business...

Fry's has these in SF Bay selling for $79.99 after $40 instant savings. PM with OM B&M should be doable now. Unfortunately, I can't do it til Monday.
