Hmm this sale is a far cry from some of the past ones. The CDRW w/ coupon maybe hot, but don't see much more then that...

The External HP 300e sounds like a warm deal. $249.99 (hopefully a still valid coupon 50 off 250 will be working then) will knock it down to $199.99.

If the Cendyne CDRW's are the same that Staples has for $17 AR, your choices are Lite-On, AsusTek or BenQ.

I think everyone knows to stay away from BenQ. Here are the serial numbers from the Staples drives.

5224W - BENQ
5224P - BENQ
LTR-52246S - Lite-On
CRW-5224A - ASUS

Hey Scrappy! How goes it?

300GBs ..? I know you got more than that ..
I have about 1 TerraByte now. I have to literally strap my drives to my case because I ran out of room.

Gotta have the space to run my pron site. ;)

Ha! Just kidding. ;)

Has anyone seen the OM flyer for this sale? If so, is there any garbage on it about the "Anniversary Sale"? I'd like to know because I bought a 52x Cendyne burner at Staples and plan to do a 110% price match on it next week. I don't want the hassle of Staples CSR's whining about it being an "Anniversary Sale" and not doing the price match.

The OM site has the new ad. It does say 15th Anniversary Savings on it. The cendyne 52x is 79.99 - 10 instant savings - 2 30 rebates.

How long are they going to keep that crap up? I know it's their anniversary. So what! By printing it on their ads, they are getting in the way of my price matching. :disgust:

I bought a Cendyne 52x burner last week at Staples hoping that they'd do a price match to Officemax's sale this week. I guess the "weekend" crew is in full force. I just called 2 CSR's and they both told me that they will not price match because of the "Anniversary" BS with Officemax. Guess I need to call back tomorrow.

I know.. I'm pissed about that. It's been like that for at least a couple of months now. When I said this to the Staples CSR, they said that it has only been a couple of weeks. Whatever.. I tell you.. You just have to find the right Staples CSR. There is no consistency from one CSR to another. They all must be reading different job manuals or something.

Anyone know what to do with the Cendyne Rebates the Ad clearly states there are two 30's. However both say that they require the Original UPC. I'm assuming I should send the copy to the OfficeMax rebate.

Thanks

If you read the submission guidlines on one of the rebates, it says they can take copies of upc.

I'd send the original UPC into the manufacturer and send the copy into Officemax. Of anyone, they should know that you can't send in two original UPC codes. What I always do is write a note when I submit a copy and say that the original went to the manufacturer for the other rebate. If you really want to be safe, print off the web page or scan the flyer showing 2 rebates for the same drive.

I highly doubt that you'll have any problem regarding this.
