Not sure if this has been posted. I purchased this today at my local OfficeDepot store. The price in store is $29.99 w/ a $10 instant rebate and $20 mail-in rebate. The $20 mail-in rebate is an error and the OD stores are honoring the rebate at the register. So the deal is $29.99 - $30 instant rebate, you just have to pay tax!!!

This deal is today only so hurry...Good luck

I bought these CD-R's Friday and already sent in the rebate. The rebate form listed the sku of the product and the required dates were right. Everything looked legit. Did they say why the rebate is an error?

That's funny, I just returned from my Office Depot (in Alhambra, CA) and when the CDR's were scanned at the register, they came up $29.99. The lady told me it was a 2-Day sale. Of course their ad does not mention this, so I had no way to argue.

I never did like OD.

Thats strange because I went to 3 different stores and got the same story from each manager. The rebate was an error and they were doing 20 instant rebate along with the existing 10 instant rebate. I picked up 150 CD-Rs for $4. I hit three different stores because there is a limit of 1 per customer.

I just went to the store in Hollywood and the package rang up $29.99. The mngr came over and adjusted it to $19.99. The rebate form says must be purchased on 11/24 or 11/25, but the mngr told me to send it in and if I had any problems he'd take care of it.

We'll see....

Just came back from OD. The West LA location on Barrington not only honored the deal, they didn't even charge me tax!!! I got just three. there were still a bunch left, but didn't want to get greedy. I figured I would leave them for all the other anandtechers since this forum has been so awesome!!

Anyway, to make sure you get this deal, go find a salesperson named Jason, since he did not charge me sales tax. Hurry run, don't walk. It is opened till 8 pacific i think!!

I guess I'm not so upset because I already have CDR's coming out of my ears. But still, it would have been nice if they gave a damn about the customer.

Alhambra, CA Office Depot S-U-C-K-S.

Went to OD. The shelves were bare. Asked the manager and presto, one was "in the back." No rebate forms until next Wednesday. Couldn't find the rebate forms on the OD website. Had to manually ring up the price, did get the $10 instant rebate.

Fatdragon, have you followed up with the $500 in rebates. Here's what I do:

1. I photocopy anything I send to the rebate companies
2. I keep a list of the rebates I send and when they were sent.
3. I wait 3 months, if the rebate hasn't arrived I call the phone number on the rebate form and find out what's going on.

So far I have received all the rebates I have ever sent out with these 3 easy steps.

Double-checked, that's it. I've heard bad things about this place... :frown:
